Jennifer Hale: 'I'd Love to Play Bayonetta Again' Despite Backlash - News

Jennifer Hale, who replaced Hellena Taylor as the voice actor for Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3, in an interview with GamingBible stated she would "love to play Bayonetta again" despite the backlash.

“I'd love to play Bayonetta again," said Hale. "But I definitely got thrown under the bus by that whole thing, and I was unable to speak on my own behalf because I was under not one but two NDAs. Eventually, I was allowed to make a statement, which I appreciated, and I was able to present the facts.

"There were some things said [that were] presented as facts, but were false. I would have never taken a role otherwise. Before I accepted the audition, I checked everything thoroughly, and I trust the director.

"Thankfully, playing Bayonetta was so much fun, and the community was so welcoming to me, especially after the fiasco had passed and the facts came out. But it was not fun getting thrown under the bus like I had, but I was happy to come out on the other side."

Bayonetta 3 released for the Nintendo Switch in October 2022 and before release original Bayonetta voice actor Hellena Taylor claimed she was  offered too low of a free to reprise her role in the third entry. This claim was denied by PlatinumGames vice president Hideki Kamiya.

I think Taylor sounded a bit better... but she ruined any chance she could have had to return lol

Hale is still pretty good and will likely improve with each project she works on

The original VA was better.

Yeah well the original VA is a moron who will never voice another character in video games again. She's on a blacklist.

Yes, but she was also a nutcase who demanded far more than she was worth. Then she deliberately misrepresented the facts to try and make it seem like Platinum was trying to lowball her, which never made sense since Hale almost certainly would be a more expensive option.

You can be good but nobody wants to work with crazies.

And Hale is unionized! I always brought that up even before the truth came out. If you want to screw an actor because of money, you don't just replace that actor with an unionized one.
