The VGChartz sales comparison series of articles are updated monthly and each one focuses on a different sales comparison using our estimated video game hardware figures. The charts include comparisons between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as with older platforms. PS5's lead should continue overall, especially by the end. The US is the biggest country for Xbox, and Xbox Series is doing worse than Xbox One did.
Even with tariffs and no cheap version of PS5, it's popular with weak direct competition and GTA 6 out in 2026.

Hmm… I never really noticed this before, but why are the holiday boosts not aligned between PS3 and PS4/5? All three systems launched in November, no?

Also, yeah, PS5 is not gonna keep up with PS4 for remainder of this year. SM2 and RDR2 is impossible to top without any major releases nor deals.

Yeah, I don't think this will be as successful as PS4's Holiday 2018. But GTA VI next year will more than make up for it. Even as a planned May release, it will help Holiday 2026 more than it might help this holiday. PS5 will very likely have a better Holiday 2026 than PS4's Holiday 2019.

PS5 will trounce PS4 next holiday, no doubt. Next year is really where we’re going to see the difference in how long this generation could last compared to last gen.
