This monthly series compares the aligned Europe sales of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch 1.
The Nintendo Switch 2 launched in June 2025 in Europe and the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. This does mean the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup.

July 2025 is the 2nd month that the Nintendo Switch 2 has been available for in Europe. During the latest month, the Switch 2 has outsold the Switch 1 by 0.14 million units when you align the launches. The Switch 2 is now ahead of the Switch 1 by 0.66 million units.
The 2nd month for the Switch 2 is July 2025, while for the Switch 1 it is April 2017. The Switch 2 has sold 1.53 million units, while the Switch 1 sold 0.86 million units during the same timeframe.
The Nintendo Switch 1 sold 39.02 million units to date. The Switch 2 is currently 37.49 million units behind the lifetime sales of the Switch 1.

Switch 2 is off to a great start everywhere but any comparison with Switch 1 will always be a marathon, not a sprint.
Yeah it needs the software to push and carry its momentum, but so far I don't know if anything is having the impact needed.
The price is the biggest thing it has against it but I'm sure that they will release a cheaper lite version.
Yeah but if a cheaper Lite is $350 that doesn't do much haha as that still isn't an affordable system.
