The super enthusiasts showed up for the PS5 Pro. However, that bubble is popping. The only way to bring sustained sales is for price drops to start rolling out. Year 5 and the system is more expensive now than at launch. These parts aren't getting more expensive.
In the bottom two charts, why is the PS3 aligned as if it launched in March 2007? It launched in November 2006 in the US, right?
That's actually a good question. What's the explanation, trunkswd? The holiday jumps should line up in the US, PS3 as well (although it's not part of the article). Only in Europe PS3 launched in March.
I don't want to know more who does reviews but mat piscatella recently posed that the ps5 is 8% above the ps4 in the USA. So shouldn't the PS5 number be 23,720,790?
can't say I'm remotely surprised by this result. Yes, the PS5 Pro has performed signficantly better than anticipated, though there was no situation where it would've been able to match the success of PS4 Pro given the price difference.
After 4 whole years, this fifth Xmas season is crucial for PS5 future in US, as it will open what will be probably, the most important year in PS5 life: the one that will finally define its story in the US market.
Paying lot of attention at the december numbers and how this season ends.
I have a feeling that December's numbers will be really good. I expect it to be up YoY over December 2023 just as November was up. I feel like we are a few months away from Sony making the temp price drop the official price. In relation to PS4 sales, I am not sure what to expect from the gap.
