Sega announced Sonic X Shadow Generations has sold over one million units worldwide on launch day.

Sonic X Shadow Generations released today for the PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo SwitchPlayStation 4Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Shadow the Hedgehog is back and teaming up with Classic and Modern Sonic in Sonic X Shadow Generations, an all-new collection featuring two unique experiences!

Play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities. When Shadow’s old nemesis, Black Doom, reemerges and threatens to take over the world, Shadow must journey into his own past, confront painful memories, face familiar foes, and unlock new powers to save the world and prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form!

Sonic X Shadow Generations also includes a complete remaster of the classic hit Sonic Generations, featuring newly remastered versions of iconic 2D and 3D stages with upgraded visuals and bonus content.

Probably going to be the publisher with highest average score on Metacritic this year, like in 2021.
Pretty good year for Sega both to the brand and on the sales front.

tbf 3D sells far better than 2D post-1998 (which makes me very upset b/c I like 2D bits lol). Curious how this stacks against all other 3D Sonic games?

Frontiers is the best selling 3D game I think, and it sold 3.5m in 6 months.

Which is a crime, it was only $20 for the digital version at launch, $20 for one of the best games from that generation and people still took their sweet time on it!
Sonic Mania was the first (and only) game I've ever preordered digitally, together with Undertale, both released at the same time on PS4.
