The VGChartz sales comparison series of articles are updated monthly and each one focuses on a different sales comparison using our estimated video game hardware figures. The charts include comparisons between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as with older platforms. There are articles based on our worldwide estimates, as well as the US, Europe, and Japan.

This monthly series compares the aligned worldwide sales of the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

The Xbox Series X|S launched in November 2020, while the Xbox One launched in November 2013. This does mean the holiday periods for the two consoles do lineup.

XSX|S Vs. XOne Worldwide:

Gap change in latest month: 85,718 - XOne

Gap change over last 12 months: 2,829,184 - XOne

Total Lead: 2,860,872 - XOne

Xbox Series X|S Total Sales: 28,740,390

Xbox One Total Sales: 31,601,262

May 2024 is the 43rd month the Xbox Series X|S has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the Xbox One when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox Series X|S by 85,718 units.

In the last 12 months, the Xbox One has outsold the Xbox Series X|S by 2.83 million units. The Xbox Series X|S is currently behind the Xbox One by 2.86 million units.

The Xbox Series X|S has sold 28.74 million units in 43 months, while the Xbox One sold 31.60 million units. Month 43 for the Xbox Series X|S is May 2024 and for the Xbox One is May 2017.

The Xbox One crossed 40 million in month 53, 45 million in month 62, and 50 million in month 71. The Xbox One has sold 57.96 million units lifetime. The Xbox Series X|S is 29.22 million units behind lifetime Xbox One sales.

It's going to be really bad during holiday period because the One X gave the sales a nice boost. This holiday all your getting from the Series consoles is a discless X for 450$ and a 2TB for 600$

Both of these models seem unattractive. The discless X is priced higher than the Duac X when it's on sale. The 2 TB is $600 making it one of the most expensive console of all time

Sony released the Spiderman 2 bundle at 600$ too and people were OK with it so at least we know it won't cause a massive outrage like the 600$ PS3 did.
