The PS5 is now 4 million away from the PS4. With sales dropping and the Switch 2 coming I just don't see it matching the PS4.

Why? Yes the sales dropped double, however if the PS5 can maintain 20-30k weekly level the PS4 did the same sales for most of its life, so it should reach it in the end.

While that's true if it maintains 20k-30k for the next 3-4 years, but there is one factor that will change that, 3rd party support. The Switch in it's 1st year lacked a lot of AA support and throughout it's life lacked a lot AAA games. So there was still a reason for Japanese gamers to buy a PS4 since those games weren't on Switch. The Switch 2 won't have that AA issue and will most likely get most AAA games.

We will see. PS5 is not far from there. It will be around 6.5M at end of the year. So 3M more is not so much. Even with not so many title is should do it.
