the ps5 should surpass the ps4 next month or in November at the latest
PS5 has to compete against PS4 Pro release in November, which gave quite a boost for PS4.
Yeah, and the PS5 “Slim” is coming the same day.
If it weren't for the scalpers PS5 wouldn't reach the 40 millions bar before 2024.
I don’t think you understand how scalping works.
Kind of unfortunate that the ps5 is looking to outsell the ps4. Ps4 had so much more to offer at this point of its life.
Did it? The first 3 years of PS4 were actually pretty weak, certainly worse than the next 4 years.
Bloodborne, until dawn, uncharted 4, drive club, helldivers, ratchet and clank plus a bunch of indies. There's been a few good exclusives on ps5 but this should be the year they start speeding up not showing down. Just take a look at 2016 on the ps4 compared to 2023 for the ps5 it is not even a contest. I'm talking first party published games here not taking into account 3rd party releases
Just PS5 only games are still Demon’s Souls, Astro’s Playroom, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Spider-man 2, + Burning Shores Expansion. The lowest OpenCritic score of any of those games is 84(only 3 games you listed are above an 84)
Then there’s cross-gen games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon: Forbidden West, God of War: Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7. Lowest rated game an 85.
A very faithful Remake and a free pack in title doesn't really help your argument. Plus I didn't even list everything. This year they've released 1 major title, that just is not acceptable to me. I know they have mlb and a vr game as well but one of those is on everything and the other requires spending a huge amount of money to get. If your OK with this thats good for you bit I expect a bit more from sony
A faithful remake is the best kind of remake. You listed Driveclub as one of your games which is a 68 on OpenCritic and the studio got shutdown because the game was a failure.
At the end of the day it's still a ps3 game with a new coat of paint. If it were more like resident evil 4 remake you'd have something. I don't really care what critics have to say, my point is somy were releasing more on the ps4 than the ps5. They had more new ips, more variety, more next gen exclusives, more risks. The ps5 has been played ultra safe filled with mostly iterative sequels that are good but don't really do much to push these series forward in any meaningful way. Critics may be eating up what sony is offering but for me I'm a bit disappointed especially with this year. Spider man 2 is good from what I have played so far, but in a lot of ways it feels like I've been there and done that already. I'm sure they'll have some great stuff in the latter half of it's life but at the moment I'm not impressed
Astro's Playroom is more of a gimmick than an actual game.
Returnal and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are also available on PC.
Spider-Man 2 and any other Marvel ''games'' don't deserve to be called a game and the fact you brag about those ''games'' just show how low PlayStation has fallen since PS3 and how fanboys have low standards nowadays.
Sony gets criticized for every little thing it does by both Microsoft and Sony fans. Sony fans have no issue complaining about their favorite system. Nintendo fans are generally pretty content with their system and don't care too much about the other systems as long as you don't try to say someone is going to buy Nintendo.
sony fans almost never criticise sony and generally anything criticising sony gets down voted to hell. Case in point I'm saying current sony isn't as good as past sony, got down voted to hell. I dont get what is so controversial about saying that the ps4 had a stronger library at this point.
The slim and the very slow first party output has been criticised heavily in a lot of PS forums and pages.
VGC is more centred to another manufacturer and not Sony’s.
They're praised for everything they do even when Nintendo and Microsoft were mocked about it.
