The charts include comparisons between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as with older platforms. There are articles based on our worldwide estimates, as well as the US, Europe, and Japan.

This monthly series compares the aligned worldwide sales of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 5 launched in November 2020, while the PlayStation 4 launched in November 2013. This does mean the holiday periods for the two consoles do lineup.

It's impressive PS5 has almost catched up, despite shortages then cost of living crisis, also the console is still $500 outside of seasonal deals, while PS4 was $350 since October 2015, and then $300 in September 2016 when Slim came out, which will be next month on this chart.

with Spiderman 2 incoming, there will be a huge different for the next month. But there is still a lot to sell if Sony wants to achieve 25M in their fiscal year.

Isn't next month October? Or do you mean the next month to Zeltaz13's 'October' response?

Doubt the gap will be huge launch aligned PS4 also had solid holiday sales. As is also visible in the chart. Sure PS5 will have a solid lead of 3 or 4 million units by the end of December launch alligned, but not much more.
