The charts include comparisons between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as with older platforms. There are articles based on our worldwide estimates, as well as the US, Europe, and Japan.
This monthly series compares the aligned worldwide sales of the PlayStation 5 and Wii.
The PlayStation 5 launched in November 2020, while the Nintendo Wii launched in November 2006. This does mean the holiday periods for the two consoles do lineup.

March 2023 is the 29th month the PlayStation 5 has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the Nintendo Wii by 750,008 units.
In the last 12 months, the Nintendo Wii has outsold the PlayStation 5 by 6.88 million units. The Nintendo Wii is ahead of the PlayStation 5 by 11.91 million units.
The PlayStation 5 has sold 35.94 million units in 29 months, while the Nintendo Wii sold 47.86 million units. Month 29 for the PlayStation 5 is March 2023 and for the Nintendo Wii it is March 2009.
The Nintendo Wii crossed 50 million in month 32, 60 million in month 38, 70 million in month 43, and 80 million in month 50. The Nintendo Wii sold 101.63 million units lifetime. The PS5 is 65.69 million units behind lifetime Wii sales.

I could see it happening in 2025, but I'd probably rather guess on the second half. It's quite likely Sony can put in a record FY as they predict due to the pent up demand, but 22.6m for next fiscal year sounds overly optimistic to my ears.
