Aaron Greenberg Tells Xbox Fans: 'We Have a Lot Planned to Show' - News

Following the lack of trailer or information on upcoming Xbox games at The Game Awards 2022, Microsoft's GM of Xbox games marketing Aaron Greenberg has reassured fans on Twitter the Xbox team has a lot to show and that "timing is always key."

"We have a lot planned to show and share about an incredibly exciting year ahead for 2023," said Greenberg. "Appreciate folks are eager to learn and see more. Timing is always key, but don’t worry you will not have to wait too long for what’s next from us."

Some confirmed first-party Xbox games coming out in 2023 include Starfield, Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and Minecraft Legends.

Timing is key, but TGA was one of those times to actually show what you got, tbf.

Its alittle too coincidental that MS looked very bad at the TGA. Meanwhile, have a court case with the FTC.
This feels more like MS did this on purpose to look bad for the FTC. I wouldn't be surprised.

So you are claiming MS is misleading FTC?

Probably. Down play the brand to make them look weak before the court case.

I was hoping for a good reveal or a release date trailer, but I'm not too concerned. As long as we get Starfield next year, I'll be happy.

You’re all clamouring for Starfield. Here I am waiting an endless wait for something, anything, about the next Fable. 😑

Well people are most likely excited for Starfield since its closer to release compared to fable.

They say that every year then show nothing. Have not released much of anything . Bought studios 5 years ago.. You would think one of them would have something to show and by TGA in MS own theatre.

They were literally metacritic publisher of the year in 2021

Are you in denial about 2021?
And no, i don't care for metascore. Its the only metric we can use in this situation

Xbox also had the most nominations last year at TGA so they were doing something right.

Maybe next year will be a return to the biggest holiday line up in xbox games history part 5

X0 making a comeback finally? There definitely has to be something. Games like Starfield especially, can't just have shadow dropped marketing videos. I mean, it could, but it just wouldn't generate the hype the game needs. January or February at the latest!

I hope so, we still haven't actually seen if the acquisition of their new studios have paid off. Guessing that's because some of them were still making 3rd party games so hopefully starting from 2023 we start seeing regular releases of exclusives.

That’s what’s been happening as you described. inXile was acquired in 2018 and they released Bard’s Tale IV, Wasteland Remastered and Wasteland 3 along with 2 expansions since then. Double Fine released Rad and Psychonauts 2 since being acquired. Obsidian did release The Outer Worlds since being acquired but they have been the studio to release 2 exclusives since then. Grounded and Pentiment. A couple other studios have been developing AAA games, but they were AA studios that were having to transition to AAA while under a pandemic. I’m sure those circumstances aren’t what they were hoping for to have a smooth transition lol.

So it’s been a combination of things, but now everyone is working on exclusives and we should start seeing results by next year.

Hopefully in January or February they have some kind of showcase. Xbox has a pretty great line up already for next year.
