Seems like the game will be a little more optmized or better on Series.

That's quite embarrassing that the PS5 can't hit 4k on quality mode and the Series S can, though I would rather slight dip in resolution to hit 60 fps.

Yet another game that runs at lower resolution on PS5 than Series X, just yesterday VG Tech released their analysis of Outriders and Series X has a 1080p-1944p dynamic scaler compared to 1080p to 1692p on PS5, and they said Series X drops to that minimum 1080p on the scaler less often than PS5 does. Almost every AAA new release or next-gen graphical update for a last gen game that has released so far this year has ran better on Series X. I think it's safe to say at this point that the issues with the launch games on Series X were indeed due to the late dev tools.

"Yet another game that runs at lower resolution on PS5 than Series X." If its using BC, which Crysis does, than the Series X and maybe even S have the advantage given how they handle BC.

Either way, the Series X has the GPU edge so better performance should be expected.

"ran better on Series X" is probably the wrong assessment since most have actually have had a more stable performance on PS5.

Alas the Series X GPU proves to be stronger as the numbers have always suggested and there is no secret sauce on the Playstation side to compensate for this, but the difference is so negligible that resolution bumps on Xbox tends to result in a more uneven performance. On both sides of the coin though, differences are kind of insignificant. Less dips on playstation but Xbox dips still being rare, tiny increase in clarity on Xbox compared to an already sharp image on playstation. I think Avengers was the only PS5 port where I think there was an actual significant difference image quality.

DF just looked at the Crysis update for Xbox Series S/X. The consensus was the dynamic resolution needs to be lowered to maintain stable performance.

Even the performance mode on Series S doesn't lock to 60 fps. Which shows the optimization is still rough.

Something odd is going on with this game though beyond optimisation. Series X vs Series S in an identical 1080p/60fps "performance" presentation with only 10 extra frames on the X (and still not perfect)? Meanwhile RTX 3080 not much faster than a 3070 or 3060ti. It's like the game is allergic to granting high framerates.

I think if the Series X version was uncapped to 120 fps, the performance mode is probably moving from 50 to about 80 fps. While the quality mode is often hitting 50 to 60 fps. So there is certainly some bottleneck hitting the GPU. For some reason dropping the resolution just isn't helping as much as it should.

Meanwhile the Series S is well below 60 fps in performance even at dynamic 1080p. Quality mode dips below 30 fps due to pushing resolution too high. While the ray tracing mode is surprisingly stable at 1080p.

I don't know what to call it other than optimization issues.

Yeah thats fair. I think non existent multithreaded optimisation does a number on CPU performance. But to me GPU performance looks nothing short of bugged/unstable.
