Switch Sales Top 75M, PS5 Tops 4M - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for Dec 13-19 - Sales

The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 1,546,436 units sold for the week ending December 19, according to VGChartz estimates. The Switch has now sold an estimated 75,125,954 units lifetime.

The PlayStation 5 sold an estimated 459,661 units to bring its lifetime sales to 4,192,807 units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 233,212 units to bring their lifetime sales to 2,242,928 units.

It should be noted the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S continues to be supply-constrained in most markets, which will likely continue through early 2021.

The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 199,085 units, the Xbox One sold 108,192 units, and the Nintendo 3DS sold 5,141 units.

Nintendo Switch sales compared to the same week a year ago are down 7,740 units (-0.5%). The PlayStation 4 is down 500,326 units (-71.5%), the Xbox One is down 256,360 units (-70.3%), and the 3DS is down 61,897 units (-92.3%).

Switch will most likely be the best-selling console in 2021. Sony would have to ship an unprecedented amount of PS5's for a consoles first full year to have any chance of outselling the Switch.

Seeing as last week or this week haven’t been reviewed as well as vgchartz being somewhat behind the numbers Nintendo puts out in their reports it’s safe to say the Switch will end the year with 80+ million sold. Crazy

With how low it is? The little bit of information we have is that Microsoft isn't shipping many consoles to the region. They are putting more focus on the Americas, followed by the UK for this holiday season.

Switch either succeeded wii u, 3ds, or both. It isn't 8th gen. But I agree wii u should.
