This monthly series compares the aligned US sales of the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Wii.

PlayStation 4 Vs. Wii US:

Gap change in latest month: 11,596 - PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: 2,422,299 - PS4

Total Lead: 7,014,980

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 34,179,958

Wii Total Sales: 41,194,938

October 2020 is the 84th month that the PlayStation 4 has been available for in the US. During the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 4 when compared with the Nintendo Wii during the same timeframe. The PlayStation 4 has caught up to the Wii by 11,596 units in the last month and in the last 12 months outsold the Wii by 2.42 million units. The Wii currently leads by 7.01 million units.

Both consoles launched in November in the US. The Wii launched in November 2006, while the PlayStation 4 launched in November 2013. This does mean the holidays for the two consoles do lineup.

The 84th month for the PlayStation 4 is October 2020, while for the Wii it is October 2013. The PlayStation 4 has sold 34.18 million units, while the Wii sold 41.19 million units during the same timeframe. The Wii reached current PS4 sales in month 52.

The Wii sold units 41.70 million lifetime in the US, therefore the PlayStation 4 needs to sell another 7.52 million units to catch up to the lifetime sales of the Wii.

its quite impressive for the PS4 to nearly close the Gap despite little to no Price-cut (mind you Wii Mini was 99$)

i dont see PS4 outselling the Wii anytime soon unless a 200$-150$ model Exists

It may end up geing really close, but with the PS5 already selling out, the PS4's just going to slow down more and more.

The old champion the Sony PS4 won't go down without a fight :") Although on a worldwide scale the PS4 has already surpassed the Wii.

The PS4 gaining isn't as impressive as some of the people here try to make it out to be.
