Microsoft's inXile Entertainment Next Generation RPG to Use Unreal Engine 5 - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 06 October 2020 / 2,406 ViewsIn November 2018, Microsoft announced they acquired Wasteland and The Bard’s Tale developer, inXile Entertainment. The team has been focused on finishing up Wasteland 3 for its August 28 release date.
The studio was asked by a fan if their next project, which is rumored to be a solo AAA RPG, would be using the recently announced Unreal Engine 5. The developer said they would be using the engine for their next project. However, they are busy wrapping up development on Wasteland 3 to discuss anything on their next project.
inXile Entertainment is based in Newport Beach and New Orleans and is headed by Brian Fargo, who also confirmed their next generation RPG will use Unreal Engine 5.
Thank you. We’re excited to share more, although it’ll be a while. Focusing on finishing Wasteland 3 and getting it into people’s hands on Aug. 28. We will indeed be using Unreal Engine 5 for our next project.
