Sources: Horizon: Zero Dawn Sequel in Development for PS5, Trilogy Planned - News

A sequel to the PlayStation 4 smash hit, Horizon: Zero Dawn, is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, according to "multiple sources" who spoke with Video Games Chronicle. There are also plans to turn the franchise into a trilogy.
Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 had started development shortly after the release of the first game and was initially planned for a release on the PS4. However, that has now shifted to Sony's next generation console.
The sources say the sequel will be "gigantic" with a larger game world and even more freedom. There will also be a co-op mode, however, it is unclear if that will be part of the main story or will be a separate mode.
Former Sony Interactive Entertainment America president Shawn Layden previously told The Telegraph that Horizon: Zero Dawn would be a mainstay for PlayStation.
This should be treated as a rumor until confirmed by official sources at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games.
"[Guerrilla Games co-founder] Herman Hulst has got a very keen mind on where he wants to take Horizon and what the roadmap is—and that roadmap is expressed in multiple years," Layden said. "I think we’ll be in the Horizon business for a long time."
Sony plans to launch the PlayStation 5 in Holiday 2020.

Yeah seems obvious that it would be in production with how popular it was for a new IP or even any game. The real question is when will it release.

Awesem! My favourite game this gen, and a candidate for GOAT status. Considering, it's commercial and critical success, as well as the narrative of the story, a sequel was inevitable.
Hope it's a launch title.
