Worldwide Hardware Estimates for April 12 to 18 - PS4 and Xbox One Sales Up Year-on-Year - Sales

The PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console worldwide with 248,529 consoles sold for the week ending April 18, according to VGChartz estimates. The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake the previous week helped keep sales for the console high for another week.

The Nintendo Switch is still seeing heavy shortages worldwide and was the second best-selling console with sales of 175,526 consoles sold. This was followed by the Xbox One with 58,081 units, and the Nintendo 3DS with 4,621 units. 

PS4 sales compared to the same week a year ago are up 35,700 units (16.77%). The Xbox One is up 11,719 units (25.28%), the Switch is down 9,034 units (-4.89%), and the 3DS is down 19,469 units (-80.82%).
