March is the 37th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month the gap grew in favor of the DS by 685,105 units when compared to the DS during the same timeframe. In the last 12 months the DS has outsold the Switch by 6.03 million units. The DS is ahead of the Switch by 2.60 million units.

The DS launched in November 2004 in North America, December 2004 in Japan and March 2005 in Europe, while the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide in March 2017. The Switch has sold 3.73 million units, while the DS sold 56.34 million units during the same timeframe.

The 37th month on sale for the Nintendo Switch is February 2020, while for the DS it is November 2007.

The Nintendo DS sold 154.02 million units lifetime. The Nintendo Switch is currently 100.29 million units behind the lifetime sales of the DS.

Wow, Switch defends itself against the DS this month - and for the DS, it's November to boot! Animal Crossing is really pushing the Switch to new heights.

Both are huge sellers up to this point but this is where DS will grow it's lead quite a bit. It managed ~30 million back to back in 2008 and 2009.
