US Video Games Industry Analyst Mat Piscatella announced via Twitter since the original Destiny debuted in September 2014 it has been the second best-selling FPS franchise in the US, according to figures from NPD. Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty is the best-selling FPS franchise in the US.

Destiny is also the seventh best-selling franchise during the same period.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is the fourth expansion for the game and is available today for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

Surprised no talk of the influx of users it's now garnered on Steam. Shit's exploding.

Yeah, it's quite impressive. Currently the 4th most played game: https://store.steampowered.com/stats/

I'm sure it also helped that it just went free to play, but still that's definitely impressive!

@SuperNintend0rk - Good point. I wasn't aware of that.

@SuperNintend0rk something of that, but I'm seeing a lot with the DLC downloaded and running, which lends to a number of people paying for the content, or people having the paid content transferred from bnet.

Oh really? Well every player you see with Shadowfall equals cash in Bungie's pocket since it just launched yesterday.

Well done even if a lot of people on the forum talk bad about it.

Good to know Bungie and Activision can put out a half-baked game with scummy MTXs and still sell millions of copies (looking at you, Destiny 2).

Destiny 1 was a much better game when they revamped the leveling system and added more content.

With that said, just don't play games like this at launch.
