Makes me happy to see that 3DS reached 75 M. Totally deserved.
The worst selling Nintendo Handheld, but I still think it's just as good as the DS was. Just didn't get as much casual appeal I guess. Smartphones killed the Brain Training/Nintendogs non-traditional gamer market.
@Barkely the DS was more revolutionary for the time. The dual screen gimick was far better received than the 3d. 3D has niche appeal partly do to the fact that it physically bothers some.
Makes me happy too. A great system with a lot of games to played still ^^
So basically, unless Microsoft performs some sort of miracle, then the Switch should top the Xbox One by FY end.
18m seems like a conservative estimate. Unless the Pokemon vacklash is legit, Sword/Shield will be a terrific system seller, and theres plenty of quality titles out to entice the Switch as a Christmas gift.
There won’t be a smash bros game this year (compared to last year).
And there were 2 Pokémon games last year. So it seems 18 millions are pretty optimistic!!
18m isn't optimistic when they're releasing a $199 model.
@kazu remake Pokemon titles never sell as well as new mainline entries. There were Pokemon fans that passed on Lets Go, same as there were for Heartgold/Soulsilver. Check the charts if you dont believe me (personally, i adore the remakes).
Wow, 14.8M 3DS games sold in the quarter! Had no idea the platform was still so alive!
This is a typo. It was actually only 1.48m lol
Damn. Just looked at the report, you are indeed correct! Will, can we get that fixed?
To think not so long ago many thought Switch wouldn't sell this much LIFETIME
3DS was a cool system several years ago. I sold mine recently though, because it really started to feel dated. I knew I was never going to play another 3DS game. Switch is the only portable I need.
Happy to see that my fav switch continues to be a beast <3
