Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. These charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.
PS4 Vs. Wii U Global:
Gap change in latest month: 766,822 – PS4
Gap change over last 12 months: 10,818,429 – PS4
Total Lead: 16,827,023 – PS4
PS4 Total Sales: 27,541,622
Wii U Total Sales: 10,714,599
In its 24th month on sale the PlayStation 4 increased its lead over the Wii U by 766,822 units. The PlayStation 4 is now 16.83 million units ahead of the Wii U. The PlayStation 4 has sold 27.54 million units, while the Wii U has sold 10.71 million units.
The PlayStation 4 launched in North America and Europe in November 2013. The PlayStation 4 launched on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. The Wii U launched in November 2012.

If just everybody in my country buys a Wii U the gap is closed.
I'm a big Sony fan and love PlayStation but it hurts to see such a amazing gaming company having such a hard time with sales! But I'm sure Nintendo will survive!
