PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U USA Lifetime Sales – August 2015 Update - PS4 8.79M, Xbox One 7.92, Wii U 4.30M - Sales

Welcome to the latest edition of the ‘PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U USA’ article. This series compares the monthly and lifetime sales of the 8th generation of home consoles - the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in the US in August shows how close the race continues to be between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The two consoles have been within one million units of each other since November 2014.

The PS4 has sold 8.79 million units lifetime in the US, the Xbox One 7.92 million units, and the Wii U 4.30 million units.

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 8,791,598

Xbox One Total Sales: 7,917,207

Wii U Total Sales: 4,300,632

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have both outsold the Wii U every month in the US since they released in November 2013. The PlayStation 4 has outsold the Xbox One for the last four months. The PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One by 8,114 units for the month and the Wii U by 166,580. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U by 158,466 units.

When you compare monthly sales to a year ago the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are up, while the Wii U is down. The PlayStation 4 is up 15,693, the Xbox One is up 49,531 units, and the Wii U is down 31,590 units.

PlayStation 4 Monthly Sales: 208,744

Xbox One Monthly Sales: 200,630

Wii U Monthly Sales: 42,164

The next couple months will be interesting to see if Xbox will catch up with the PS4, or if they will gain the same amount. Only time will tell. Both are going great otherwise.

This isn't the world or even better the European chart. They are pretty much head to head here don't be suprised if the halo impact puts it ahead the PS4 for a short while. With that I mean to 18 match tops
