Nintendo has partnered with DigiPen (a video game development school) to open a new studio in Singapore, called DigiPen Game Studios.
The new studio will initially develop smaller experimental titles that will be released on the eShop in the near future. 10 titles are hoped to be selected by the end of 2016. Singapore's Media Development Authority will help fund some of these games.
DigiPen Singapore also plans to have its first DigiPen Game Conference later this year for local developers. These local developers will be able to submit their game ideas for evaluation by the developers at DigiPen Game Studios.
