Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. The charts will be updated monthly and each article will focus on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation, as well as comparing the 8th generation consoles. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

PS4 Vs. XOne Global:

Gap change in latest month: 376,725 – PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: 6,372,722 – PS4

Total Lead: 9,886,022 – PS4

PS4 Total Sales: 22,389,944

Xbox One Total Sales: 12,503,922

In April 2015 the gap between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One grew once again in favor of the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 sold 376,725 more units than the Xbox One to bring the total lead to 9.89 million units. The PlayStation 4 has sold 22.39 Million units in 18 months, while the Xbox One has sold 12.50 million units.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both launched in November 2013 in North America and Europe. The PlayStation 4 launched on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. The Xbox One launched on November 22 in North America and Europe.

Dang. The XB1 hadn't outsold the PS4 even one time. Not a single dip in that graph.

Roughly every two months, the gap grows by another million+ in favour of the PS4. That's huge.

Pretty much a near perfect lineair graph, nice going PS4 up to 100 million and beyond
