Metal Gear Online to Support 16 Players on PS4, Xbox One & PC - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 21 April 2015 / 5,661 ViewsThe online multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, known as Metal Gear Online, will support up to 16 players on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will support up to 12 players online. The information was spotted on the game's official Japanese site and translated by VideoGamer.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will launch on September 1 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and for the PC on September 15.

I hope this is going to be more "Metal Gear" and less "generic-online shooter".
MGO in MG:PO was good, MGO in MGS3 too, MGO in MGS4 had pretty much nothing to do with Metal Gear.
I loved MGO in MGS3. MGS4 not so much.
Not so bad, it's that bit bigger than your average squad shooter.
Still miffed about the release date though =/.
