The Wii sold 222 million units at this time?
Poor PS4. Will never live up to the 222,196,944 Wii's sold.
PS4 staying as close as it has to till year 5 when it will have those great PS legs
The Wii cratered very quickly though.
Not relly. Sold over ten million a year until 2012 when Nintendo pulled all support and released its successor. Five year lifespan which is pretty average for a gaming console.
If you expect the PS4 to catch up soon, then you're in for a surprise. The Wii's next 2 years were over 20 million, then 17 million. Unless the VR thing really takes off, the PS4 is going to stay behind for at least the next few years. I don't think it will ever catch up. The PS4 and XBone just don't seem as future proofed as the PS3 and 360.
Wii was a force of nature during its early years. Not to dock the PS4's efforts, but the Wii was unstoppable; even with supply issues.
wiidomination
Except that Wii sales tanked after year 2. PS4 will likely catch up if 2015 ends up being as good as it looks.
Dude... you're on a sales site. That means that you have easy access to the numbers. If you had checked the numbers you'd realize how totally absolutely wrong you are.
Wii sales were actually at their peak in year 3... so the exact opposite of what you said. 24 million in year 3, 21 million in year 4. PS4 is not catching up till 2019 at the earliest.
As i said... NOTHIN can sell 20M the first year. B) Congratulation Nintendo!
Get rekt PS4. :-D
