Well, it's still more than half than what DS sold. If it keeps that way it should sell more than 80M in the end, maybe it will reach 90M.

I don't think 3DS will be on the market as long as DS was, so I don't see it doing much better then ~85 million.

Read the article, 3DS launched in a different month. Last month was a December month for 3DS against an October month for DS. Next two months the gap will grow very quickly.

The 3DS has been very successful, but is there any point in there being another handheld? I can't imagine the downwards trend reversing.

People didn't expect the DS to sell so much better than GBA. I'm not saying the next HH will be better, but don't count Nintendo out.

I heard that argument about handhelds during the GBA era, and that argument about consoles during the PS2 era. As long as companies are able to innovate, there will be a point.

Is 80 million sales worth ignoring? Okay then why bother releasing any console?

The whole GBA argument is stupid. Smartphones weren't competition then.
