This gap will just continue to grow. It's inevitable.
I think Nintendo needs to start implementing some serious policy change for their systems online features and region locking to help change some gamers minds on the WiiU and they need to do whatever they need to to get publishers on board. WiiU has some fantastic exclusives and has great indie support but there's very little in the ways of publisher support and the system is lacking many basic features that not just the PS4 and XB1 have but Steam, Vita, and 360 have. Also the region locking issue shouldn't even exist.
Until they do these things, I don't envision them being able to turn things around. Lightning doesn't strike twice, meaning, they can't expect another innovative thing that nobody expected like the Wii and while their handhelds are still selling well, much of the casuals that were forced to buy handhelds before now have mobile phones to game on.
It would be more appropriate to do PS4 vs. XB1+WiiU
Just wait until Smash Bros, WiiU will outsell XB1 this holiday. I don;t see XB1 surpassing WiiU for a while.
Mario kart 8 didnt change wiiU trend,so it's easy to expect that even smash bros won't make the difference, considering that this game has already iussed on 3ds,as well.
One week, one month or November and December combined?
