Activision: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Launch Bigger Than Ghosts - News

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launch sales were bigger than Call of Duty: Ghosts. This is according to Activision using UK tracking firm GfK Chart-Track.

However, Advanced Warfare was available for one day longer than Ghosts. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Ghosts didn't launch until later in the month when both consoles launched.

"We are very happy with how much fans have embraced Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare as evidenced by an increase in combined retail and digital sales year-over-year in the UK," said Activision in a statement. "While it’s still early, we think we have a great game that’s fun, engaging and will keep people playing for some time to come. Welcome to a new era of Call of Duty."

The strong launch for Advanced Warfare is a good sign for the franchise. Many analysts had predicted launch sales would continue the decline in the franchise that happened with Ghosts. A retailer told MCVUK that the demand for Advanced Warfare came later than in the last for the franchise.
