Nintendo: 3DS US Sales Top 11.5 Million Units - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 10 January 2014 / 10,420 ViewsNintendo of America has announced today that all the iterations of the 3DS, the original 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS, has sold more than 11.5 million units in the US. The 3DS had reached 10.5 million units a month ago.
Nintendo also stated that in 2013 16 million 3DS games were sold at retail and through the digital store, eShop. That is a 45 percent increase year-over-year. Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales and Marketing Scott Moffitt promised that 3DS sales in 2014 will continue to grow.
"Nintendo 3DS is a powerhouse with games and experiences that appeal to all kinds of players," said Moffitt. With more games featuring fan-favorite franchises on the way, the best days of Nintendo 3DS are still to come."
The 3DS has sold more than 42 million units lifetime globally as of December 28, 2012, according to VGChartz. There have also been more than 120 million games sold for the 3DS. Pokemon X/Y is the bestselling game for the 3DS with 9.3 million units sold.
The 2DS launched in North America and Europe in October 2013 for $129.99.

So VGC has the 3DS at 12.98 million as of the 28 Dec 13 in North America, so roughly 1.5 million sales in Canada then? Thats pretty close to the usual 'Canada sales = 10% US sales", not bad tracking VGC!
