This week we will be looking at the top 10 bestselling games published by Konami. Last week we looked at the top 10 selling games published by Take-Two and the week before that the top 10 selling games of May 2012. If there is a particular top 10 you want to see leave a comment and it may be featured in a future top 10.

Looking at the top 10 bestselling games published by Konami, all 10 games are on a Sony Platform. One is for the original PlayStation 2, one for the PlayStation 3, and eight are for the PlayStation 2. Four Metal Gear Solid games made the list, while there are five Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution Soccer games. The other game is for the Crash Bandicoot franchise.
The top 10 games sold a combined 46.29 million units. The eight PlayStation 2 games sold a combined 34.62 million units, or 74.8 percent of the total games sold in the top 10. The eight games averaged 4.33 million units sold each. The one PlayStation game sold 6.03 million units, or 13.0 percent of the total games sold in the top 10. The one PlayStation 3 game sold 5.64 million units, or 12.2 percent of the total games sold in the top 10.

Taking a look at the top 10 bestselling Konami games as a bar graph it is easy to see how Metal Gear Solid is Konami’s biggest franchise. The first two sold more than six million units and the four games in the top 10 sold a combined 21.95 million units or 47.4 million percent of the total games sold in the top 10.
As a quick note 26 Konami games sold more than two million units and 61 games sold more than one million units. The Metal Gear Solid franchise has sold more than 30 million units. The Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution Soccer franchises have sold more than 50 million units. The Crash franchise including the game published by Sony has sold more than 40 million units.

You have Crash Bandicoot at number 4 in your list, with 5.42 million. Konami only published the game in Japan, it was published by Universal Interactive everywhere else in the world. If you take the Japan-only sales of the game (which is all Konami would have seen), it's only 0.82 million. I don't really understand why it's included on this list.
47.4 MILLION PERCENT?! Good lord, the Metal Gear Solid franchise certainly has been a boon for Konami.
I couldn't stop laughing when I read that.
me too XD
WTF!! I hate MGS 2 and Raiden ¬¬
Interesting that the least liked MGS game as per the vocal majority fan base actually sold the most?
Lets see if Metal Gear Solid 5 can crake in the list
MGS4 might be their top selling game in not to long. That is kinda shocking considering how well the others sold in the prime PS2 era.
Not all that surprised. They make such great games, they deserve such high sales.
Wow. I guess we see why they keep making Metal Gear. And you're not going to get too much complaining from me about them doing it either!
The sad part for Konami is, that they weren't able to repeat the big success they had on PS2 obviously on the PS3. Only one title for PS3 made that list.
The problem with that is...They only made ONE Metal Gear Solid game this generation. The 5th will prolly be on the PS4 to be completely honest. If they made 2 or 3 full MGS games, they would have 2-3 games on that list. It's all their fault because they focused on side projects that are mostly garbage.
Wow, MGS4 is the only current gen game to make it on the list. Konami should start some kind of spin-off series or a bunch of prequels. Maybe even remakes of the original Metal Gear games. Besides PES, nothing is really helping them out much.
Wow, just MGS and PES on the whole list (I also thin CB shouldn't be there).
