During the "secret" Nintendo conference, not too much new info was shown. Rather than new games like people hoped, a few additional tidbits not seen from the keynote in regards to WiiMusic and such were discussed. Someone in the audience asked Miyamoto a question about core gamers and core games, and whether he is making any of these, especially a Pikmin sequel. After playing around like he was mad he said He would announce a new sequel when he's ready, then he followed up with:
"We're making Pikmin ,"
Maybe after being so bombarded with questions all weekend about core gamers, he decided to concede. We'll see at Leipzig and TGS.

Great news, would be good to see some screens or a video, good nonetheless.
The secret conference is not where that was said at. It was at the Nintendo Developer Roundtable, something that was able to be live blogged and what not.
No one really knows what was said at the private conference simply because no one was supposed to say what was shown there haha.

Sam Yikin, no, Pikmin has never been confirmed as far as I'm aware.
Lauren, I don't think Spore and Animal Crossing are in the same genre. 2/4 Spore stages seem to be RTS, one a 3rd person action style game and one, i don't even know

^ Nintendo went last year, because of DQIX. In 2005 they had their own event a few days before TGS.

No, no we won't. I don't think Nintendo is attending Leipzig. Also, Nintendo NEVER goes to TGS. Well, except for in 2005. We will have to wait until E For All.
We will not see or know this @ Leipzig.
Nintendo(Germany)stated a few days ago that they will not be present there. :(
So all our hopes rest on the TGS.
Pikmin is a great unconventional series. I really enjoyed the first and second iterations. I think the Wii version is going to be awesome. The control that the Wiimote will give the player is going to be unprecedented in this type of game.
@Alpha Nintendo said they won't be announcing games years before release, so exect it sometime this year or early next year.
@ Lauren PIkmin is more of a strategy than a sim. What are you simulating in pikmin?
Good, but can i kill little pikmin with swords
kind of cool, but there seems to be an overload of simulator games coming for wii in 08. Harvest moon, Animal Crossing, Sim City, Spore, Dokapon Kingdom, and others.
Haven't we known this since last year?
Yay? I wanna be excited, but just because they're making it doesn't mean it's coming soon. I'll wait till a release date before I get too excited.
