oh man,..... dat flopness
this game doesnt look cheap at all. i really blame the lack of advertising for this bad sales...i still think this number is way too low. prolly undertracked. plus its also available digitally and was part of a Nintendo club campaign too...
i dont know..what a shame

Finally finished the game, a bit repetitive at first but once you learn more techniques I enjoyed more the combat system. Good game imo, nice story (although I didn't like the trevor-alucard stuff). Some musics are good but others a bit boring, I missed the classic Castlevania melodies. But overall I really enjoyed the game, I started it again but now on Hardcore :)

I disagree, just because they've been doing handheld metroidvanias doesn't mean they are all the same. Order of Ecclesia and Portrait of Ruin did a lot to mix up the gameplay. It's not like they kept making the same game over and over again, they stuck to the same genre but changed things up with each installment. Each of the DS games felt varied and unique.

I also loved those games, thought they were the best titles on the handheld. I hated this game however, felt like an awkward attempt to mimic Igarashi's style while adding in elements from Lords of Shadow. I'd much rather have another set of excellent metroidvanias than more of this game.

are you kidding Fusioncode? all they have been doing is metroidvanias, just about all the portable games since GBA have been metriodvanias, i for one im glad they are not just sticking to that formula and trying something different. Especially since none of those metroidvanias are as good as SOTN anyway
Fusioncode (on 31 August 2013)
Maybe this will convince Konami to make some more metroidvanias

unfair sales, although the games a bit of a mess
RaitheNoblesse (on 07 April 2013)
these sales are not fair... (it should as one of the best handheld versions, at least...)

but trully, after some fuck up 3D versions, incl. the "fight game", many are afraid when they glance at the box cover-art (and back-cover).. and the medicore metacore doens't help either... (IGN are idiots...)

his game is a audio/visual masterpiece on the 3DS.... and it has what Casltevania is all about, great atmosphere with cool fights & jump'n run parts...., and it even has a "story"..
S.Peelman (on 01 April 2013)
On Vita the game wouldn't have sold any better.

Castlevania's are never big seller. On this site, the biggest game by far (SotN) is only at 1.27m. The majority is under half a million. It's amazing really that a series that sells so little can live on for 25 years now. It'll leg it out to around the DS and GBA levels of the series (0.2-0.3m).
RaitheNoblesse (on 27 March 2013)
these low sales due to the crapy box cover-art (and back-cover) and some BS low reviewes.... (and many who are "fixated" on "Castleroids" Gameplay...)

even if it isn't SOTN and it has room for improvment, it still catches the true Castelvania flair better than those "Castleroids"...., and Mirror of Fate looks looks gorgeous...

like it more than Kid Icarus and it deserves to sale at least as much...

Good game, nice reboot for the series but as an old school castlevania fan I was expecting this sales. It alienates the fans of igavanias with the modern approach for mainstream success but destroyed even the niche appeal the old castlevania had. Lets see how Lords of Shadow 2 will do if Konami will put to rest once the for all this franchise. Konami and Nintendo will cry bloody tears after this sales if accurate.

i agree with you think-man
think-man (on 18 March 2013)
Horrible horrible sales, I think it would have been more suited for the Vita tbh
venuse8102 (on 18 March 2013)
ouch i was expecting more
acdcste (on 18 March 2013)
Didnt expect this to do well. I think 150k maximum for this game lifetime. I think monster hunter will be dissapointing sales wise as well when we bet the numbers in.
oniyide (on 17 March 2013)
i dont get it, its not like the DS castlevania lit the charts on fire, this could leg out and sell on par with those, but thats about it
DieAppleDie (on 17 March 2013)
o:
expected way more sales tbh...still i dont like modern Castlevania at all, so i dont care....burn!
eyezofnight (on 16 March 2013)
i'll pick this up once I finish Fire Emblem
Jankelope (on 16 March 2013)
Pretty Abysmal sales. Pretty poor critic reviews helped that. Doesn't really deserve more than 100k
F0X (on 14 March 2013)
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that this isn't going to light the chartz on fire.
venuse8102 (on 09 March 2013)
man i hope this sells well because im loving this game.
