@slipknotfan--how can this be better than F3?
slipknotfan (on 26 June 2011)
Better than 3 IMO
leatherhat (on 27 May 2011)
The king of bundles- two million in 12 weeks. Pretty damn good.
Mr Puggsly (on 06 January 2011)
This has pretty good legs. Still selling thousands every week.
MonstaMack (on 15 December 2009)
Yeah it was bundled for the longest time in Europe and for quite some time bundled with the Falcon Elites in the US. It's also $5 or less at many locations used and pretty cheap ($20) new for the platinum hits edition would comes bundled with extra content. I'd highly recommend playing this before Forza 3 just to get a taste of what your getting into, atleast for the price point.
Nightwish224 (on 14 November 2009)
@ Bargaren

My 360 elite hdmi console came with Forza 2 + Marvel Ultimate Alliance bundled.
Bagaren85 (on 28 October 2009)
Yes, bundle. But it was with the old system without HDMI.

coolbeans (on 27 October 2009)
No, bundled with Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
Notorius.A.i.G (on 17 October 2009)
Wasn't this bundled with Halo 3 ?
metalgearmatt (on 16 October 2009)
Bundling sure did help this game though. It should also influence the sales of forza 3.
MonstaMack (on 15 October 2009)
4 million baby!
coolbeans (on 20 August 2009)
It was more than a mil when it was bundled, heck it veered close to 2 mil before bundling if I recall.
Gearbox (on 11 August 2009)
@Graves - that is true, aside for unchrarted that reached 1.7 be4 bundles. killzone reached 1.5 be4 bundles aswell
Barozi (on 02 August 2009)
Over 2 million people bought the game. Not counting bundles.
pslee (on 01 August 2009)
killzone wasn't bundled until recently.
Graves (on 27 July 2009)
@ Gearbox
Yeah, just like Killzone 2, Resistance, Uncharted, and Motorstorm.
coolbeans (on 10 June 2009)
Well it's certainly set better user-base now, gearbox. It would probably be the same with PS3 bundling K2 around the time the sales stayed standard at around 1.75-2mil and it gets jumped up to 5 mil ltd.
Gearbox (on 08 June 2009)
gah only 1 million people bougth this title but because of the christmas bundle during halo 3 so many copies were moved. now kids seem to think its massive
Egghead (on 10 March 2009)
What you thanking him for?
oliist (on 08 March 2009)
It was me.
It's always me. :)
Machina (on 21 February 2009)
Thank you, whichever GameDB admin it was ^^
black7xxx7 (on 15 February 2009)
probably one of the best racing games ever in my opinion its way better than gran turismo
Egghead (on 08 February 2009)
VGC is undertracking in Japan, Famitsu said this sold around 100k. Still 40k in Japan is pretty good for a 360 game, especially at that time

1 million couldnt come sooner, imagine 360 software sales at 1.5 million? Famitsu also showed their top 30 selling games on the 360, and half of them were from 08, so clearly their business is growing well there

Unfortunately it also showed the VGC way overtracks on many games = (
Hammer-of-Dawn (on 25 January 2009)
i am very disapointed with Japan........this game stands toe to toe with any gran turismo (yes Sony fanboys, its up there too), yet they completely ignore it cause the title doesnt say "Gran turismo".........
xsuicidesn0wmanx (on 22 December 2008)
As far as the most REALISTIC racing sims I've played go, I'd rate the Indycar Series games from 04 and 05 as more realistic than forza or gt. No you cant add bumpers or any of that crap, but as far as pure setups go, I'm still searching for another game that lets me adjust all 4 corners, not just the front and back.

however that game was for one single type of car only. Both forza and gt do a great job with many different types of cars from street to exotic to straight up race cars.
I LOVE GIGGS (on 19 November 2008)
This game sold 2.3m (without bundle)!
Great!
Egghead (on 14 November 2008)
The great thing is that it sold well on its own, but now due to heavy bundling, it may just be capable of GT success.

The game truly deserves attention but because its so hardcore for the console crowd it doesnt. If MS heavily market the next game, they might just do it. Also they should bundle it from launch, as Sony did with GT3, it could mean the franchise solidifies its multi million selling status
Barozi (on 12 November 2008)
It was also bundled here in Europe.
Egghead (on 10 November 2008)
BTW, does anybody know if this was bundled in EU, because if it wasnt, then it sold really well

I remember just before it was bundled in NA, it was just a bit above 1 million
goddog (on 30 September 2008)
Gearbox, what? why come here and do that, this is a great game, and fun, i played gt back in the day and gt was not even the best sim on the ps1, jerret and labonte stock car racing was, heck it even had damage modling and licenced cars,
Egghead (on 21 September 2008)
Gearbox, you absolutely know NOTHING if you think GT is even remotely realistic

Even the physics in Forza 1 are beyond most games out there including GT5P
slipknot0129 (on 19 September 2008)
forza 2 is better than grand turismo
toastboy44562 (on 15 September 2008)
4 million!!!
toastboy44562 (on 20 August 2008)
yeh right gearbox...this game will hit 4 million in one or two weeks!
Gearbox (on 07 August 2008)
@ Rocksmith
I like my 360 as much as I like my ps3. This game just flat out sucked.

The Customization of cars ins't new they just took the feature from previous racing games. This is a very basic sim. Gran Turismo is the most realistic car sim.
Sabre979 (on 26 July 2008)
Forza 2 ruled over any Gran Turismo game for several reasons. The biggest reason was giving the player the ability to PAINT their car ANYWAY they wanted. All racing sims in the future should allow this. I also liked the variety of cars, from classic muscle to import tuners.
RockSmith372 (on 25 July 2008)
wow gearbox, this was a great game. the only reason you don't like it is because it is not on the PS3. sony fanboys...they get so annoying
Gearbox (on 23 July 2008)
boat simulators?
Cheat1011 (on 23 July 2008)
I don't know how you play boat simulators and have fun.
Gearbox (on 22 July 2008)
Forza 1 = GT2
Forza 2 = ALMOST GT3!

No offense to you all who llike it but I own it and well it sucks horrible! BAD!
I player GT3 for my ps2 before I played this, and well I was very angry that this sucked!

Iunno why you all think this is a good game...
Cheat1011 (on 22 July 2008)
Forza 1 > GT4.

It'll be the same with GT5.
321tttrini4everz (on 21 July 2008)
forza 1 + froza 2 = 4.9million

lol
wareagle372 (on 14 June 2008)
grand turismo is still the top car game, but Forza is definitely going up to the top 3 racing series
Dragon007 (on 29 May 2008)
Prologue is already at around 2.5 million including downloads, it will outsell it by the time GT5 hits.

As for the full GT5...well just look at past sales.

MontanaHatchet (on 24 May 2008)
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue won't outsell Forza 2, but it outsells it in non-bundle sales.
Dragon007 (on 18 May 2008)
"wow, nearly 4 million? well that should show whats the leading driving game"

Rofl, Gran Turismo pwns Forza.

Just one of the full Gran Turismo games have outsold the entire Forza franchise.

Even a demo of GT5 is poised to outsell Forza 2.
Whictecum101 (on 07 May 2008)
ones at reaches 10 million like the last 4 Gran Turismos talk to me
Apollo (on 07 May 2008)
wow, nearly 4 million? well that should show whats the leading driving game
wareagle372 (on 21 April 2008)
Microsoft was smart putting this in a bundle because it shows people that there are some good racing games on the 360.
rogerioscaff (on 24 March 2008)
gostei dele, muito realista.
MontanaHatchet (on 16 March 2008)
I find it funny that Fred attacks someone despite that noticeable bump in the graph.
tombi123 (on 27 February 2008)
Wow, it sold about an extra 1.8M because of the bundle.

I have only played it for 5 mins in Virgin Megastore. I have to say it was very good. I still prefer GT3 (and 4) though.
stof (on 08 January 2008)
@ Fred - Saith17 asked why it was so high and Picko answered.

Sure it's an awesome game in it's own right(otherwise they wouldn't have bundled it), but that bundle did increase sales a heck of a lot.
fred (on 19 December 2007)
@ RICKYTAN - And your point is what ?, all 3 systems have a bundle game in the top 15, the 360 is shifting huge amounts of consoles but it don't mean they are all the Forza2 version, with that amount of consoles it's obvious a lot of people are going to buy Forza2 for 2 reasons, 1. it's the best next gen driving game out there by far and 2 it's is also now being sold at a much lower than retail great price....
fred (on 19 December 2007)

Kicks GT's ass

*waiting for a playstation fanboy to correct me*
rickytan (on 12 December 2007)
yep picko is correct, thats why its selling so well
Picko (on 11 December 2007)
@ saith17

Its being bundled with the 360.
saith17 (on 11 December 2007)
Wow. Why is this so high on the top 5?
PseudoKirby (on 21 July 2007)
this game blows away any other game that came out in 1986

also it has sold moar than .50 million copies

vgcharts is biased towards nintendo

I am sure Forza 2 has sold at one million or near one million
ClayMaster (on 13 July 2007)
if forza 2 doesnt sell a million by the end of month the peter did his second lie of the confrence .
deathbeast (on 09 July 2007)
This game rocks. Only idiot sony fanboys who haven't played it would rate it at less than 8 or 9.

I played every Gran Turismo and Forza 2 is superior in every way to all of them, by a considerable margin.
leo-j (on 30 June 2007)
Hate to say it since im a sony fan, but this game is awsome the only think I don tlike is the background it looks like an old xbox game background.
rocketpig (on 24 June 2007)
8.06 rating? Weak.

Anyone who gives this game less than an 8 obviously hasn't even played the game. It's so solid on every level that it puts GT to shame.
Senbei (on 16 June 2007)
Forza rox GT!! :)
nelsonbianchi (on 11 June 2007)
gosh. ****ing fanboys. stop lowering the score of this game
