| Matt_182 (on 07 May 2012) I was really enjoying this game up until it glitched and wouldn't allow me to continue the main quest. That ruined the whole experience for me. | |
| ManciuD (on 24 March 2012) 5.65 mil? very good sales | |
| piggychan (on 21 March 2012) those sales for a western RPG.. amazing.. | |
| iceolate (on 14 March 2012) This game is like an annoying but extremely hot girlfriend. Very fun to play but is very glitched. | |
| enrageorange (on 14 March 2012) okay chickenmoshpit, i apologize, either way this will end up selling over 12mil on ps3/360 alone. Which Final Fantasy 7 wouldn't have achieved even if released on the nintendo 64 as well. I made a wrong statement, but regardless fact is this game is more popular than any final fantasy period. | |
| chickenmoshpit (on 11 March 2012) @enrageorange dude, do you know wtf are you talking about? check your facts first. | |
| VXIII (on 11 March 2012) FF7 is on PS1 not PS2. Anyways, undeniably great sales for Skyrim. I'm going to get my copy soon ^^ | |
| enrageorange (on 09 March 2012) @chickenmoshpit You do realize the ps2 sold 150mil units while no console will get close to that this gen. Had FF7 been on the xbox and gamecube as well, it wouldn't have sold more than 1mil on either of those platforms... How about this. Xbox360+PS3 combined are less than ps2 sales, and yet skyrim xbox+ps3 is going to pass FF7 very soon. | |
| chickenmoshpit (on 03 March 2012) @Kai Master lol you're comparing the sales on 3 platforms as opposed to only 1. of course skyrims gonna win. i bet if FF7 is on 3 platforms too it would have easily sold more than at least 16M. come back to me when skyrim actually manage to reach 9.7M on a single platform. | |
| vic_viper (on 10 February 2012) @Kai Master: Try Pokemon. | |
| man-bear-pig (on 05 February 2012) Good to see it still selling well after the holidays! Although ive lost interest in it myself... | |
| yo_john117 (on 23 January 2012) Here's hoping that it can cross 7-8 million lifetime. Definitely one of the greats of all time. | |
| Reebokanonymous (on 21 January 2012) @Kai Master Don't forget the fact that digital distribution has not been accounted for in that total. It's way over 10m now. | |
| Kai Master (on 21 January 2012) 9.85m 360+PS3+PC : just passed FF7's 9.72m and becomes the best selling adventure game ever ! ^^ | |
| Mordred11 (on 20 January 2012) Sold almost identically with the PS3 version this week. | |
| enrageorange (on 20 January 2012) 30k behind battlefield 3. Should pass it in 1-2weeks and pass gears 3 in 3weeks max. Really interested to see the sales this game reaches. | |
| Mordred11 (on 13 January 2012) yep,5M! | |
| Mordred11 (on 12 January 2012) 5M this week,after global #'s are up? | |
| Marks (on 04 January 2012) Already 1.1 million ahead of Oblivion. This game deserves every sale it gets. | |
| Seece (on 02 January 2012) 8m lifetime? | |
| Mordred11 (on 31 December 2011) From what I'm reading around the web,it's because it went back to full retail price in the UK | |
| Mordred11 (on 31 December 2011) why the decline in europe?! | |
| Roar_Of_War (on 30 December 2011) Such a beast, even though it declined in Europe a little. | |
| D-Joe (on 25 December 2011) well in Japan it out stock in amazon japan right now(restock at 12/31) | |
| enrageorange (on 23 December 2011) Very good hold for a 360 game in Japan nowadays XD. | |
| VGKing (on 23 December 2011) Damn. Not my type of game but this is as western as an RPG can get. Western game + Xbox 360 = $$$$ | |
| piggychan (on 22 December 2011) will this reach the best final fantasy sales figures ?? | |
| Mordred11 (on 21 December 2011) This version will end up doubling Oblivion(360)'s numbers. | |
| man-bear-pig (on 21 December 2011) Over 600k worldwide this week! | |
| Mordred11 (on 21 December 2011) Millenium the game will sit at around 4.15M after the numbers are updated. And then we have the biggest week of the year,it should be between 4.65-4.75 after that. And then the last week of the year, which should bring some respectable numbers and possibly enough to hit the 5M mark. | |
| pezus (on 21 December 2011) game* | |
| pezus (on 21 December 2011) dsage01 it's far from the buggiest games of all time. | |
| Millenium (on 21 December 2011) 4.5M seems more likely Mordred11, I'd like to be proven wrong though, if they fix all of the bugs, this game should be great for a lot of players! | |
| dsage01 (on 20 December 2011) Sales are really fantastic even more so for one of the buggiest games of all time. The game itself is great but the amount of bugs ruin it | |
| enrageorange (on 20 December 2011) could do 600k this week and pass battlefield 3(360) next week. People have gone crazy for skyrim! | |
| Mordred11 (on 20 December 2011) Guys,this version might reach 5M this year alone :-O. | |
| Mordred11 (on 20 December 2011) awesome 6th week in the US! | |
| Zucas (on 20 December 2011) Finally finished the main quests in this game, and just like Oblivion, the story is not that great haha. But, like Oblivion as well, the game makes up for it on about everything else haha. Great and varied sidequests and currently doing the many factions quests. Fantastic game. If ya haven't picked it up yet, then I suggest you reward yourself this Christmas with this gem. | |
| man-bear-pig (on 17 December 2011) 1,025,000 across all platforms this week! :O | |
| usrevenge (on 17 December 2011) Skyrim? more like SkyWIN they deserve each sale, and it will go up when the GOTY edition comes out! | |
| acdcste (on 17 December 2011) Nice to see this pass the 3.5m mark. Guess the price drop helped it a little. | |
| enrageorange (on 16 December 2011) and its ahead of oblivion. Next week fable 2 and 3. | |
| lordmandeep (on 16 December 2011) This will be bigger than FF7 overall, massive sales... | |
| pezus (on 16 December 2011) Oh and nilli, you should be banned. If you'd comment on the forums you'd be banned in an instant. You're just a troll and proud of it. | |
| pezus (on 16 December 2011) Skyrim has been #1 on Steam almost consistently since it launched, Witcher 2 was #1 for a few days. And we're in the holidays now where sales for all games are up so it's an even stronger feat than if it happened out of the holidays. | |
| pezus (on 16 December 2011) Really nilli, compare the Witcher 2 to a monster of a game. Witcher 2 is a game made in Poland by a small team and has nowhere near the recognition that the TES series has. For the record Portal 2 sold over 1m on Steam in a few months according to Valve so this should be at about 1m on Steam right now. Making the total sales higher than for the PS3 version. Yeah really, what a worthless market /s | |
| Mordred11 (on 16 December 2011) 510k globally this week,very nice. | |
| nilli (on 16 December 2011) LOL @ Steam. Who gives a crap. Steam sales suck. Show me how many times it got downloaded through steam. If witcher 2 got only 250K through all the digital channels Skyrim ain't doing much better. Digital sales are hihgly exaggarated. If those would be high as hell wouldn't they announce the sales instead of just this "fastest selling blaa blaa". When they finally do announce we hear the Witcher 2 numbers :D | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 15 December 2011) Now, Skyrim is shipped 10 million copies worldwide in retail alone and set the steam reord for the fastest selling game in Steam's history | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 15 December 2011) No, after Dec 10, Syrim will reach at least 6.7 million copies across 360, PS3 and PC (excludes digital sales of couse)... It surely will exceed 8 million copies in retail alone before 2012 | |
| mrstickball (on 15 December 2011) yahoo - I don't think it'll go that high. Probably closer to 7m. | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 15 December 2011) So actually, Skyrim will sell over 8 million copies across 3 platforms before the end of 2011? | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 15 December 2011) Basically, this game sold 900,000 copies word wide last week | |
| Mordred11 (on 15 December 2011) This will become the highest selling RPG across the HD consoles | |
| enrageorange (on 14 December 2011) when world wide sales get added this week, this game will outsell oblivion, in 5weeks. Its also outpacing gears of war 2... | |
| man-bear-pig (on 14 December 2011) hopefully these sales make appesda (or whatever they're called)get to work on shitloads of dlc and dont leave 5 years until the next elder scrolls installment. | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 14 December 2011) life time sales on XBOX360: 6.5 million at least, Mark my words | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 14 December 2011) man-bear-pig, GAME also said Skyrim beats Modern warfare 3 in the bestselling chartz | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 14 December 2011) On Amercian eb games SKyrim XBOX360 version also dominates Modern warfare 3 both versions | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 14 December 2011) Yeah, Skyrim beats Modern warfare 3 in UK this week | |
| miqdadi (on 14 December 2011) I think it will end up to be the best selling RPG on consoles this generation | |
| man-bear-pig (on 13 December 2011) wow at the uk numbers this week. i suspect a large portion of these sales came from gamestation where it was £23 this week | |
| enrageorange (on 13 December 2011) last week it was 300k and its up 45k in the US and 60k in the UK. It could do over 500k this week. | |
| Mordred11 (on 13 December 2011) Looks like it will rise significantly in Europe as well! over 300k week. | |
| pezus (on 13 December 2011) UK numbers for this are just epic! 60% of the USA sales for this week | |
| Mordred11 (on 13 December 2011) WOW! | |
| pezus (on 13 December 2011) And up it goes! | |
| pezus (on 13 December 2011) UC3 is far from overtracked. It's almost spot on, if not a bit under | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 13 December 2011) the only game overtracked is Uncharted 3 | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 13 December 2011) NPD:Skyrim Already Approaching Lifetime Sales of Oblivion | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 13 December 2011) Oblivion sold 500,000 copies in March 2006, USA alone. if it's opened 5 fold over oblivion, It's at least 2.5 million in November USA. | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 13 December 2011) According to NPD, Oblivion sold 500,000 copies in March 2006, USA alone. if it'it opened 5 fold over oblivion, It's at least 2.5 million in USA... Anyway, the only game overtracked is Uncharted 3 | |
| enrageorange (on 12 December 2011) lololol dsage you are always hating on 360 multiplatform games that sell well. NPD said it opened 5fold over oblivion. Which sold 350k on the 360 and an unknown amount on the PC. So it could very well be undertracked in America. | |
| dsage01 (on 11 December 2011) lololol Yahoocom you've always been hated on PS3 and its exclusives and you still are. Skyrim sold much more than Uncharted there's no denying that but that doesn't make Uncharted overtrakced does it? Infact UC3 has prooved to be under tracked according to Sony's article. Ethomaz even made a thread about it. | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 11 December 2011) SKyrim won VGA 2011 | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 10 December 2011) also, Skyrim only sold 15 days in Nov, unlike Uncharted 3 sold like 26 days | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 10 December 2011) Kai Master, Skyrim will sell over 7 million copies before the end of 2011 excludes the digital sales....Also don't forget the future expansion packs push and Game of the year edition's second purchases.. SKyrim's expansion packs will be huge, like shivering isles and Bloodmoon | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 10 December 2011) the only game overtracted is Uncharted 3 | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 10 December 2011) Over tracted my ass, the only game overtracted is Uncharted 3 | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 10 December 2011) No, it's not overtracted.. The game is 5 times more than Oblivion according to NPD; Oblivion sold over 500,000 copies during the first month (Xbox360+ PC), so Skyrim should be over 2.5 million copies in USA, which is quite close..Over tracted my ass, the only game overtracted is Uncharted 3 | |
| dsage01 (on 10 December 2011) overtracked according to NPD... (both versions) | |
| Billmaster17 (on 10 December 2011) I have 3 glitched quests for this game. i hope they have an update soon | |
| Kai Master (on 10 December 2011) The game was shipped at 7m copies, you really think it could reach 12m units woldwide ? I only hope it beats FF7's 9.72m, more would be the cherry on the cake. | |
| Shadowfest3 (on 10 December 2011) I'm not much of a fan of RPG's but for some reason I love this game!! | |
| piggychan (on 10 December 2011) very ingenious Bethesda next year 2012 is the chinese year of the dragon XD | |
| Mordred11 (on 10 December 2011) 6M on the 360 only would be a huge success. | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 09 December 2011) Double purchase for Game of the year Edition | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 09 December 2011) Skyrim will sell 12 million copies on Xbox360, PC and PS3...Now the only things I want are high quality expansion packs for SKyrim | |
| mrstickball (on 09 December 2011) If it trends similar to Fallout 3, it should sell between 5.5 and 6 million copies. Very well deserved. There is a future for RPGs on consoles! | |
| Mordred11 (on 09 December 2011) AMAZING numbers so far! | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 09 December 2011) Legs are good | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 08 December 2011) Exceed 3 million copies now | |
| Kanemaru (on 08 December 2011) mortal kombat | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 08 December 2011) This version will outsell Assassin creed 2 | |
| yahoocomReborn (on 08 December 2011) This version will outsell Assassin creed 2 | |
| IxisNaugus (on 07 December 2011) Gamestation had this game on deal of the day yesterday, with the price slashed by half. Had to pick it up, what a bargain. | |
| mrstickball (on 05 December 2011) @Pezus - Skyrim will undoubtedly have some of the greatest legs for an RPG. Most Bethesda games do. I think that 5m copies of Skyrim on 360 is likely. | |
| ManusJustus (on 05 December 2011) And 4 million people bothered to 'waste' time in Morrowind... | |
| ManusJustus (on 05 December 2011) @ Puggsly - Its the same for everything in life, most people want easy handouts rather than to have to think through and work things out. | |
| kleinanzeigen (on 04 December 2011) BEST Xbox Game ever ! ( With Gta4 and Bully Solarship Edition) | |
| enrageorange (on 01 December 2011) steep drop week 2, but held up very nice week 3. It didn't get any black friday sales either so that gives me hope it wasn't just BF. | |
| pezus (on 01 December 2011) Very small drop-off! Legs | |
| Mr Puggsly (on 30 November 2011) @ DepthAlly - Morrowind sold well, but Oblivion had a wider appeal. | |
| Mr Puggsly (on 30 November 2011) @ ManusJustus - Good for you sir, you put the time into that game that many of us don't want. For the record, games that hold your hand tend to sell better. This is why developers don't care what you personally prefer. | |
| ManusJustus (on 30 November 2011) Puggsly, Morrowind gave you a map with directions, books or letters accompanying quests, leaving it up to you to find it. I beat Morrowind without ever looking at a strategy guide, and I would much prefer games make me figure things out than hold my hand the whole way. | |
| DepthAlly (on 30 November 2011) @MrPuggsly @mrstickball you guys realize Morrowind sold really well as well. 1.84m is damn good, given the circumstances. So I wouldn't say Morrowind had a problem with appeal or getting overlooked. | |
| Mr Puggsly (on 29 November 2011) @ mrstickball - No, Morrowind just wasn't as appealing. Personally I couldn't get into the game because there was no compass telling you where to go and I don't want to use a strategy through the whole game. | |
| The_Joker_Product (on 29 November 2011) Looks like its been overadjusted, according to the new global thing it sold 1.79 million week 1. | |
| mrstickball (on 29 November 2011) Puggsly, I think the issue was that few people actually knew about Morrowind on Xbox. It takes time for such a fanbase to grow. | |
| Mr Puggsly (on 27 November 2011) @ Kizmi - Well the fanbase grew significantly after the release of Oblivion. The games prior to Oblivion didn't have the same appeal. | |
| Kizmi (on 23 November 2011) I think millions bigger userbase on consoles made it sell much more than Oblivion did in 2006 | |
| man-bear-pig (on 22 November 2011) i think it will sell 557,143 in america this week... | |
| man-bear-pig (on 22 November 2011) hopefully these sales will cause appesda (or whatever they're called) to focus more one elder scrolls and less on fallout | |
| yo_john117 (on 21 November 2011) @pokeclaudel: It's sold so much better simply because it is one of the greatest games ever made. | |
| pokeclaudel (on 21 November 2011) Why is this game doing so much better then oblivion on consoles? Did the inclusion of dragons do this much. I know the dragons were the reason I went for it. | |
| Boutros (on 20 November 2011) Should reach 2 million FW with Japan sales XD | |
| mrstickball (on 20 November 2011) Deserves every sale it gets. I imagine that it'll see some incredible weeks as Christmas comes. | |
| man-bear-pig (on 20 November 2011) plus it only had 2 days of sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |
| man-bear-pig (on 19 November 2011) emeaa sales are definately undertracked. everyone i know has this game. emeaa sales will defo increase this week, as 5 people i know have bought the game just because i have told them how good it was | |
| markimsoad (on 19 November 2011) game of the year like assassins creed revelations | |
| piggychan (on 19 November 2011) amazing game, amazing music, amazing sales, just.. amazing! | |
| NintendoFanDj (on 19 November 2011) Well until is pass FFVII no need to worry. It will never beat Pokemon. Although pretty good start. | |
| Seece (on 19 November 2011) 2 mill seller first week! | |
| enrageorange (on 19 November 2011) When Japan numbers get added next month this will have done 2mil+ in its two day "first week". Great sales and all online retailers seem to hint at a very small week 2. Its still near the top of every major retailer's online chart despite a half dozen games releasing this week. | |
| yo_john117 (on 18 November 2011) GOTY for me! | |
| Slimebeast (on 18 November 2011) I love the game of decade and game of generation comments. For me it's still between Skyrim and Oblivion. | |
| Sanzee (on 17 November 2011) Quite possibly one of the best games of the decade! Easily the game of the year though. | |
| piggychan (on 16 November 2011) what an amazing game.. the music is just embedded in my brain.. I am sooo annoyed I DON'T have the will to stay away... my assignments are falling behind.. | |
| DevilishSix (on 16 November 2011) This is a fantastic game and maybe my Game of Generation (GOG). I believe most any gamer that plays this will find something they really like. | |
| Mr Puggsly (on 16 November 2011) Amazing opening. Numbers like this leads me to believe PC gamers have shifted to consoles. | |
| spurgeonryan (on 14 November 2011) Pc version has a 9.8 user rating, PS3 not much lower. How in the Hell does this have an 8.8? Come people, vote! errr ..rate. | |
| Mr Puggsly (on 12 November 2011) Loving this game, potential GOTY. | |
| cars298 (on 09 November 2011) tired of stoping until release | |
| cars298 (on 09 November 2011) ammmmmmazing | |
| yo_john117 (on 28 October 2011) 14 more days! | |
| dharmaduke (on 02 October 2011) freezing myself Cartman-style until 11-11-11 | |
| yahoocom1984 (on 26 September 2011) Just preordered from Amazon | |
| yo_john117 (on 24 September 2011) Can't wait!! Got it pre-ordered! | |
| ManusJustus (on 25 August 2011) Cant wait for this to release! | |
| darthdevidem01 (on 15 June 2011) GOTY 2011 after Xenoblade Chronicles | |
| yahoocom1984 (on 19 May 2011) Fukcing GOTY | |
| Slimebeast (on 14 May 2011) 94% Meta. 1.2 mill first week. 4.5 million lifetime. | |
| Slimebeast (on 07 April 2011) Oblivion sold over 3.5 mill on X360 alone. Skyrim will take a step to the next level and increase those sales. 4.5 million. 1 million first week. | |
| yahoocom1984 (on 05 February 2011) Now Oblivion has sold 5.54 million on two consoles, maybe 2 million on PC, so that's 7.54 million now, Oblivion can reach 8 million | |
| yahoocom1984 (on 13 December 2010) well, Oblivion sold 3.3 million on XBOX360, over 2 million on PS3; possibly sold even better on PC! So I predict Skyrim will sell at least 9 million copies across all 3 platforms! | |
| yahoocom1984 (on 13 December 2010) Master of all games | |
| Boutros (on 13 December 2010) ARE YOU KIDDING (!?!?) BEST GAME EVER!!! LIKE FOREVER EVER!!! | |
| darthdevidem01 (on 13 December 2010) GOTY 2011 and WRPG of Gen, possibly RPG of gen! | |
| Rob-Ot (on 12 December 2010) I hope they don't screw this up like Oblivon. Please be more like Morrowind :( | |
| Slimebeast (on 12 December 2010) I predict 94% Meta and 4 million copies sold for the X360 version alone, based on the phenomenal debut trailer. |
