Game Overview

The Last Story  is a 2011 third-person, action JRPG game with stealth and strategy elements.  It was directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi and developed by Mistwalker and AQ Interactive for the Wii.  It was originally published by Nintendo and released to the Asian market, and a year later it was also released in Europe and Australia, but Nintendo of America refused to publish the game in the Northern American market. Thanks to an online petition by Operation Rainfall, and publisher XSEED Games, however,The Last Storyalso arrived in Northern America on August 14, 2012!  The game's name and logo have been compared to the Final Fantasy series, which was created by Mistwalker's head, Hironobu Sakaguchi, who previously held the post of executive producer for the Final Fantasy series.

Story: The story of The Last Story is about a young man named Zael and his group of mercenaries, led by Dagran. It is told in chapters, like a book.

NA sales just passed Japan sales. Looks
like XSEED was right to bring it over.

Wow, so the sales for this game are now
neck and neck in America and Japan.
That's really great. Even better,
it's about to cross the 500k mark. Not
bad for a game many thought had no
chance. Hironobu Sakaguchi-san and his
team must be very pleased to hear this.

lol, this game is profitable for
sure
anything beyond 500k is (except
really high budget games like GTA4)

XSeed considers TLS their best selling
game ever. So on that level, it's a
profitable successs. Not as much as
XENOBLADE, of course, but still
respectable for a new JRPG.

They should have either made this for
3ds or waited and updated the graphics
and Ai for the Wii-U. I was severely
disappointed in this game and they sales
show most people stopped caring about
it.
