Hey Namco! Don't forget about us Wii-owners! I want more people to play this great game, even with its bugs...

The fkatness of this graph is truly disturbing...
Conegamer (on 09 January 2011)
I hope this game gets localised in the West, if it does, it could be a potential million-seller...
gunslinger (on 30 December 2010)
I want this game SO bad. I really don't care if it's the PS3 or Wii version. I just need it now. I've been playing Tales of Vesperia WAY too much and need a new Tales game. Come on Namco!!!
Arfen (on 05 November 2010)
anyone know if this game will come to the west? I know there's a PS3 version in the making, but what happen with Wii version? almost a year and no news
novasonic (on 13 May 2010)
I want this to be localized so badly, but I gotta say I'm losing hope with every passing day.
menx64 (on 08 May 2010)
what about america's release date? no news? any?--- ; _ ;
IxisNaugus (on 28 April 2010)
Hope we get a release date or something soon. E3 maybe?
Arfen (on 21 April 2010)
hello? Are fixed version sales tracked?
Arfen (on 11 April 2010)
so there's no boost from fixed version?
Arfen (on 02 April 2010)
ahmok, so i'll be waiting next week numbers ;)
Chrizum (on 02 April 2010)
Fixed version is most probably not being tracked.
Arfen (on 02 April 2010)
I expected that fixed version, make a boost in sales
Soriku (on 23 March 2010)
@Dand

It's been rereleased today: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/03/23/tales_of_graces_fixed/
Dand (on 16 March 2010)
Do someone know when this game will be rereleased?
oni-link (on 01 March 2010)
@novasonic

Sales "could" have been much better IMHO but NB really dropped the ball on this one by releasing a defective and buggy game. I'm actually suprised it sold this WELL as it mostly met Famitsu's LTD sales in Japan in less than a couple of months. I'm just hoping they could sort this out as bad publicity could really affect sales overseas!
novasonic (on 23 February 2010)
Sucks that they have to recall this. Maybe sales will get a nice boost when it's rereleased.
bmmb1 (on 11 February 2010)
@roccerfeller, I doubt that NSMBWii had any negative effect on TOG sales, but I am certain that being released one week before FFXIII had almost everything to do with TOG sales
roccerfeller (on 08 February 2010)
this game has done okay, but honestly thesales it has right now are more in line with what I thought it would have done 1st week. Maybe being released near NSMB Wii, Sam War 3 and FF13 killed some of its sales?
alekth (on 07 February 2010)
You can get your disk replaced (though obviously I'm not going to bother, being outside of Japan). But aside from that the new revision is also hitting stores. No idea on numbers.
Hero of legend (on 06 February 2010)
@alekth:

Wow, that's awesome that they released a new shipment! :D

But is this just merely a disc-replacement program, or a real new shipment to stores?

Any idea how many were shipped?
alekth (on 06 February 2010)
The game is still printed. They have just issued a new batch (with fixes for some bugs), so if there was shortage/no copies inbetween the two, that might have been the reason. http://taletalesource.blog69.fc2.com/blog-entry-2142.html
oni-link (on 05 February 2010)
well it did sell out of it's initial shipments and is very close to famitsu's (and probably NamcoBandai's) lifetime sale for Japan:http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5582. It's just a matter of economics to see if there is enough demand to necessitate printing more copies and how much!
novasonic (on 04 February 2010)
Ouch, that is a low low number.. Is it really not being printed anymore already?
IxisNaugus (on 04 February 2010)
Ok no something is definitely wrong now, i'm sure of it.
kopstudent89 (on 04 February 2010)
Well thats it for the game :P
Chrizum (on 04 February 2010)
Apparantly, this game is sold out and no more copies are being printed.
alekth (on 31 January 2010)
Finally got my copy after customs and postal services choked on it for nearly two months. Somehow it's grabbed me more than Vesperia, although only at 4hrs in it's too early to judge the whole thing.
c0rd (on 31 January 2010)
Should end around 225k in JP by VGC numbers, right around DotNW.

Shame! Hope it does better in the west, but who knows.
oni-link (on 27 January 2010)
thanks for the clarification nordlead I was under the impression when reading your Japanese previews that it wasn't!
nordlead (on 26 January 2010)
VGChartz always includes bundled software with the non-bundled software. If we didn't, then Wii Sports wouldn't be near 60m.
forest-spirit (on 23 January 2010)
Huh, you sure this doesn't include bundles? I thought it did.
novasonic (on 22 January 2010)
Ooh right. I forgot it was bundled too. Anyone know how many of those were shipped? 50k maybe? 100? donno.
oni-link (on 21 January 2010)
by the way these numbers are for the standalone sets and does not include the Wii bundle so hopefully the game could be in a few x-tra hands of gamers.
oni-link (on 21 January 2010)
thanks Soriku looks like ToG will still meet expectations that famitsu set since it's only 5 wks old and it's already 210K. I'm still holding to my guess of ~260-270K lifetime in Japan and 600K worldwide.
Soriku (on 20 January 2010)
@oni

Oh yeah, forgot to post the 230-290k expectations. Here's the link:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=92630
oni-link (on 19 January 2010)
@JTurner

It also surpassed famitsu's initial forecast for lifetime sales as well: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5582. NB must really be happy!
JTurner82 (on 17 January 2010)
Wow, for a game that people are dismissing as a failure, this one is holding up pretty decently. It won't be long until it passes DoTNW's total in Japan (somehow I knew it could do it). Hope this one comes to America soon.
oni-link (on 15 January 2010)
I'm guessing this title sells 600k lifetime in all territories. Japan sales finishing at ~260k-270k or 40% of the sales.
Soriku (on 14 January 2010)
@c0rd

I was using Famitsu or MC numbers (don't remember which) and one of them had it at 212k. VGC had a downward adjustment not too long ago for DotNW at .21m but I just checked right now and it's back up to .22m? Well it should pass the 212k next week but we'll see how long until it passes 222k.
c0rd (on 14 January 2010)
Soriku, whose numbers are you using?

VGC has DotNW at 222k, and knowing Tales drops, it'll probably be 3 weeks until ToG hits the mark. ~14k to go!
Soriku (on 14 January 2010)
@rock

Because Namco don't announce Tales games in the West in January...they do in February-April.

Should pass ToS: DotNW next week, nice! I'm guessing people want another RPG after FF XIII I guess.
rockleemexico (on 14 January 2010)
why namco have not given any news about this game being lauch outside of japan??? i am starting to worry about it D ;
andrewclear (on 14 January 2010)
On a positive note, this game didn't cost as much as most games this generation to make, so chalk up some profit to the tales studio here. Can't wait till it gets to the state, so I can actually have something worth playing on my wii again.
IxisNaugus (on 14 January 2010)
Steady sales for week 4 and a minor increase :)

a good sign of future balanced numbers?
oni-link (on 14 January 2010)
Besides, that probably takes into account the limited edition bundle Wii that NB and Ninty had when the game first got released. This is only to my memory #'s for the stand alone game right?
oni-link (on 14 January 2010)
@soriku

link please ;)
Soriku (on 13 January 2010)
@oni

Actually Famitsu revised their prediction to 230k-290k which should be spot on.
oni-link (on 12 January 2010)
@soriku,

okay cool, but I'm still very happy that it surpassed Famitsu's estimate for lifetime sales in Japan within a month of sales. I'm sure that NB's estimate is around the same as famitsu's anyways which would deem this a mild success in Japan; seeing all the disappointment of some 3rd party games recently. This will definitely hit gold status as long as vgchartz tracks all numbers in all territories unlink ToS:DoNW!!!
Soriku (on 11 January 2010)
The first shipment from Famitsu was just a prediction. The actual shipment is 210k. The Japan preview has the game at 9k this week so they'll have to ship more after this week.
oni-link (on 11 January 2010)
Darth, the shortages are probably due because it sold out of it's initial shipment (according to famitsu's prediction http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5582 ) and this tales is about to surpass it's expected lifetime forcast very soon. NamcoBandai probably did not expect the demand for this game. A shame and hopefully they would still regain any momentum lost because of this. BTW famitsu's(and probably NamcoBandai) lifetime forcast for this game in Japan was 180K-230K!!!
DarthMithrandir (on 10 January 2010)
I just found out that this game has become the 2nd All Time Platinum title on My Nintendo Channel. (1st one is 428)
I gave this a full score as well.

And I suppose there is some shortage? because some of the game shops here in HK are still selling it at HIGHER price than I bought on day 1.. (now costs as much as 2x of the new Zelda DS)
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 10 January 2010)
Would be nice to see legs, but I can't say I'm expecting any. Though I would want them to announce a western release already - This is one of my most anticipated games! Give it to me!
c0rd (on 09 January 2010)
Nearly 18k? lol

I swear these games are always overtracked, but I'll hope (again) that it isn't. Let's hope it can pull off another 10k next week?

(impossible, I know)
Kihniö (on 09 January 2010)
New year boost..
Let´s see how its going to hold,next couple weeks.
oni-link (on 08 January 2010)
This game according to Famitsu http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5582 sold it's initial shipment the first week and is line with Famitsu (and probably NamcoBandai) total forcast if not surpass it!!!
Soriku (on 06 January 2010)
I think DLC should be getting them some good money. DLC seems to be popular with their other games too.
oni-link (on 06 January 2010)
Don't think it needs saving. I think sales are pretty decent despite what ppl might say. It's sure to hit at least 250K in Japan alone and that seems quite decent compared to many 3rd party games on the Wii lately. Besides with how ToS2 sold I'm sure NamcoBandai braced for the worse. This game probably performed better than their worst case scenario which would still put up a profit for NamcoBandai!
c0rd (on 04 January 2010)
Come to the west, we'll save you ToG!

(... maybe)
kopstudent89 (on 04 January 2010)
its not a bomb, its belowe expectations ok, a flop ok, a bomb no.
Soriku (on 04 January 2010)
ToG released smack in the middle of NSMB and FF XIII and many other games...that's what's up.
IxisNaugus (on 03 January 2010)
Well my predictions were off the mark by quite a bit. I don't understand, what is going on?
Vas-y (on 03 January 2010)
Disappointing. It will take a while to catch Vesperia's first day sales on PS3...
Himan11 (on 31 December 2009)
Just started playing this game, I like it so far!!
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 27 December 2009)
I want this game sooo bad. Still. Goddamnit, send it to EU. NOW ;_;
Soriku (on 26 December 2009)
I don't consider it a bomb if it'll end up making money for them but sales are disappointing...

Their next main Tales game would be on the HD consoles anyway. Should've been obvious before ToG even came out. Team Symphonia already have HD experience and they're due for another game next year, probably for late 2010. Team Destiny, the guys who made Graces, should be able to put out another Wii Tales in late 2011 or earlyish 2012 though.
VivaLaWiida (on 25 December 2009)
Omg now we can admit it.. this game flopped in Japan. :(
I hope Namco Bandai won't change their decision and bring their next main tales game on PS3/Xbox360.
Signalstar (on 24 December 2009)
hoped for better sales.
MirrorWorld (on 24 December 2009)
I heard there were lots of glitches with the game or sumthing. Mebbe that's turning people off of Graces?
Chrizum (on 24 December 2009)
Well, these sales sure a huge disappointment.

I hoped week 2 would be above 30k, so it could redeem itself a little, but I don't see this one have any legs with such a huge drop.
nordlead (on 18 December 2009)
hopefully this game will sell really well, as at least they put effort into this compared to Dawn of the New World.
Chrizum (on 17 December 2009)
I have a feeling it's a bit undertracked, as Famitsu, MediaCreate and the Preview had it higher than this, but still, this game didn't do well at all.
Arfen (on 17 December 2009)
A lower start than Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the new world... I didn't expect that

I was hoping for a higher start.. Now I hope legs make this go far
IxisNaugus (on 16 December 2009)
First week sales 143,000

http://www.nintendoeverything.com/29650/
Zucas (on 08 December 2009)
I'm pretty hyped for this as well just hope it doesn't take too long to get it to America although feel bad for the Europeans.
pariz (on 06 December 2009)
This is my most anticipated game today. More than FFXIII, Monster Hunter Tri and Heavy Rain that is.
Vas-y (on 02 December 2009)
180k first week.
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 27 November 2009)
Want this game. Badly. My second most anticipated title, behind only Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I hate that I'll probably have to wait more than a year from now until I can play it due to Bandai-Namco hating Europe, but until then I'll be hoping for some solid japanese sales for the game.
IxisNaugus (on 26 November 2009)
I may be wrong but something tells me this may be a bigger hit then some are expecting.

I hope i don't have to wait till 2011/12 to play this. I am sick of Banco's treatment of this series. I'm still not sure if i want to even get ToS2 after waiting over a year more than everyone else for the game, but i really want to play Graces. *sigh*
TheConduit (on 17 November 2009)
The new Famitsu estimates for this game seem more on track but still a little low of 230-290k lifetime sales.
trashleg (on 16 November 2009)
i want this
Vas-y (on 11 November 2009)
It will be a pleasure playing this game in 2011...
JTurner82 (on 22 October 2009)
I don't know if I'd call DotNW poorly received--the game WAS still financially successful and it has its small share of devoted fans, including myself (I personally thought it was a pretty good sequel; not as epic as the original, perhaps, but I still enjoyed it very much).

That said, I DO think Graces will have the advantage of being the first "true" Tales title for the Wii. I don't know whether it'll be a success or not, but based on the fact that the preorders have improved, it sounds pretty hopeful.
TheConduit (on 19 October 2009)
The Famitsu estimates for this game were far to low with 180k -230k copies total forecast.

Considering that Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the new world sold 220k I find that estimate odd.

Tales of Symphonia DOTNW was poorly received, a sequel while Graces is a mother ship title and released while the Wii had less consoles in Japan.

Graces will probable sell around 500k in Japan alone
Soriku (on 30 September 2009)
Dec 10 release in JP. 1 week before FF XIII and 1 week after Gundam and some other bigger PSP games. Nice date.
theARTIST0017 (on 28 September 2009)
@TheConduit

It already looks better. With a little advertising here in the West it definately will.
pariz (on 28 September 2009)
Watch the new trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4ndhjBY7wQ

Is off screen but I haven't seen it anywhere else.
pariz (on 28 September 2009)
You are going to make me so happy...
I just know it!
TheConduit (on 28 September 2009)
From what I have seen so far Tales of Graces looks to be a visual improvement over Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the new World.
IxisNaugus (on 27 September 2009)
I hope this sells really well. I have faith since it's a mothership title and on a home console but we'll see i guess. It looks amazing.
Soriku (on 14 September 2009)
Added a bunch of screens :)
TheConduit (on 06 July 2009)
I wonder if this will be able to topple Tales of Symphonia from its throne at the top of the Tales series.

Hopefully its as well made as tales of Symphonia and not rushed like the sequel
Blacksaber (on 13 June 2009)
I Personally I hate my banner but there are no better pics >_>

oliist (on 12 April 2009)
The third one isn't too bad compared to the two I just deleted.
Soriku (on 10 April 2009)
The pics uploaded are unbelievingly bad quality....

The newest trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hQp_NbiaZo&fmt=18
Soriku (on 07 April 2009)
I guess I'll wait for some newer pics to upload this time.
oliist (on 07 April 2009)
I created a "NEW" Tales of Graces entry before the first version got too polished/finished.
The other one would have ended as a duplicate without sales because of the initially wrong encryption (Tales of Gracia) in the database.
Believe me. It's better this way!
