For Japan alone it is the best selling
in the series

I wonder if DQ9 can
change that
Sky Render (on 26 June 2009)
Ah, good old DQ7. One of the finest
entries in the series, and one of the
best illustrations of why the series
never took off outside of Japan. In
Japan, it defines the turn-based RPG.
Outside of Japan, it's remarkably
niche.

The overall pace is slow, the
story is borderline episodic in nature,
and the battle engine is pretty
fast-paced, which is good given all the
fights you get into. This all adds up
to a great game to those who embrace the
JRPG mindset, and a dull slogfest to
fans of more Western-tailored game
experiences.
