Game Overview

Super Mario Strikers is a soccer spinoff game from Next Level Games for the gamecube. You can play one of 8 playable Mario characters along with a set of 4 various lesser Mario characters and one Kritter as a goalie. It is wacky version of soccer complete with excessive tackling, extraordinary kicking abilities, power-ups and a electrified fencing. The game is up to 4 players so you can have the multiplayer mayhem

There are 9 captains to choose from; Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, DK, Wario, Waluigi and secret captain to unlock. In addition,  you can choose your team to be made up of Toads, Birdos, Koopas or Hammer Bros.  Each of the characters has their own stats and area of expertise. Each captain has a superstrike also, performed when you fully charge a kick successfully and earns double points if it makes it in. The game is fairly challenging requiring use of the advanced techniques on higher difficulties. Bowser time brings a great random gamechanger in the middle of a match, as Bowser knocks out anyone who gets in his path enabling a side to a goal in the mayhem

Better than the Wii sequel

The Strikers series makes me wonder why
they didn't make Little Goomba a
sidekick character. He's all feet after
all. Guess that he's smooshable was the
reason they left him out. One feature
this has over MSCharged: When your
superkick slams the goalie into the net
superfast with that trumpet blast. It
made it look so devastating.

ruckus i don't agree. Mario strikers
charged was way better than this one.

I can say that this game is very fun at
entertaining, has a good replay value
and the difficulty is good even for
experienced gamers.

The cons would be
the other aspects of the game, like
content and diversity, the differences
between characters, the music and the
small details like errors in the game,
but I remember this game was made way
fast, and the fun that it gives
compensates the cons.

I've got this but it's the euro
version (Mario Smash Football) and
prefer it over its Wii sequel.
