2011 Year on Year Sales and Market Share Update to April 16th - News

Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers and change in sales performance of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.  Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.




"Year to date" sales for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 sales are shown in series at the top of the table and then just below a comparison of 2011 versus 2009and 2011 versus 2010 is displayed.  This provides an easy-to-view summary of all the data.

Seece this looks awesome, we missed this last week. I think next 2 months heading toward E3 will be very interesting. We should see Wii Price Cut May 15th or so if rumors are true. Then if sales pick up maybe XBOX 360 and PS3 will give us some price cuts also, or they just may wait a bit longer. I do wander who will pull the trigger 2nd Microsoft or Sony.

Michael, we've been over this, 3DS isn't part of this generation so I'm not having it mess up the marketshares of PSP/DS. It'll be added next year with it's own chart VS PSP2

Well actually 2.37M but how much does VGChartz have it at? 2.5M sellthrough was it so 2.6M or 2.7M shipped according to them.

3DS shouls be added to market share, at the very least for tge handhelds section at the very end. Even though 3DS is new, it's already outselling the PSP for 2011, so ignoring it makes no sense.

Yes, tomorrow 8am UK time I think. So 2.3 for this Q eh? Spot on with what they expected then.

I expect 1.8M Q2 ( 88.8M) and 1.5M Q3 (90.30M).

Are the Q1 reports tomorrow? I expect no less than 87M Wii shipped end of march and 147M DS.
