2010 Year on Year Sales and Market Share Update to December 18th - News

Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers and change in sales performance of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.
"Year to date" sales for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 sales are shown in series at the top of the table and then just below a comparison of 2010 versus 2008 and 2010 versus 2009 is displayed. This provides an easy-to-view summary of all the data.
Xbox 360: UP Year on Year this week by 323k. UP Year to date 29.62%
Replenished stock, christmas boost and $75 Walmart gift card helped raise X360 sales to 1 million units this week, up considerably YoY and over its previous peak year 2008. If sales stay consistant for the next 2 weeks the 360 might be able to cross the 14 million mark for 2010.
Wii: DOWN Year on Year this week by 100k. DOWN Year to date -9.85%
Wii back to being down YoY after the $50 Walmart gift card deal last week, sales could now approach and even surpass 20 million units for the year 2010.
Playstation 3: DOWN Year on Year this week by 188k. UP Year to date 14.10%
PS3 saw a sizeable boost in NA this week, even with that however sales are down YoY by a large margin. PS3 sales for 2010 will approach 15 million units.

And we've got to remember PS3 still has at least 1 price cut to go. I 'll bet this is not PS3 peak year yet. For the x360, it depends on how well kinect goes in 2011, cause if it's still selling well after one year, a price cut will help reaching a new peak.
The wii has peaked already, but still isn't surpassed by any of the HD twins, no matter wich year you choose. (wii worst year was 15 ml up to now)
