Nintendo Lists Internal Million Sellers for Apr-Sept 2010 - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 28 October 2010 / 4,450 Views

Nintendo's infamous, "supplementary earnings" sheet has just released. Satoru Iwata is also set to present on Nintendo's latest set of results tonight or in the next few days. According to Nintendo's supplementary earnings sheet we have the following software totals for Nintendo games on Wii & DS through September 2010 (shipments in millions worldwide).

Wii                                          Apr-Sept 2010           Sept 2010 LTD

Super Mario Galaxy 2           5.10m                             5.10m

Wii Sports Resort                  4.80m                             20.94m

Wii Sports                               4.25m                             67.71m

Wii Fit Plus                             2.57m                              15.22m

Wii Party                                2.50m                               2.50m (1.3m shipped outside Japan for launch)

NSMB Wii                               2.03m                               16.73m

Mario Kart Wii                     1.46m                               24.01m

DS

Pokemon Black / White      4.07m                              4.07m

Pokemon HG / SS                2.53m                               10.93m

NSMB DS                               1.64m                              24.13m

For DS, the three million-selling Nintendo games total 8.24m units for the first six months of the fiscal year, accounting for precisely 15% of the 54.84m DS games shipped for the period. On Wii, the million-selling Nintendo games for the past six months had shipments of 22.71m units, 34.8% of all software shipped for Wii in that period. Exclude bundled software though, and Nintendo's million sellers were only about 1/4 of all Wii games sold for the period.

The earnings sheet contained no other secrets. DKC: Returns still needs a release date in Japan, and 3DS is only listed as March 2011 in the west. We may get more at Iwata's presentation on the six month results, but we may not.

@Rath, this is not the main Nintendo story. @Killiana1a, actually those other sites sites chose to troll the Wii if they present such a story side by side with SOny and MS quarterly numbers, You see, this quarter Nintendo actually profited very (very) nicely, but the previous quarter (which is old news) they took a calculated big loss for the entire year due to exchange rates. When putting together both quarters, you still have a minimal loss (25 million dollars), but if you just look at this quarter, then Nintendo is profiting immensly, just less than last year in the same quarter. NOT the same as those sites are presenting it.

I have to agree that I find it quite odd that both Sony and MS have their financial results as a story but Ninty just gets its million sellers?

Wow, Super Mario Galaxy undertracked by a million on here? As for the loss, it's due to manufacturing huge numbers of 3DS systems which they now won;t be selling until February, this loss will be offset by the 3DS launch.

Funny we get this article when every other gaming website has this article "Nintendo posts six-month loss, Wii sales near 76 million," according to Gamespot and IGN. In depth, in the last 6 months, Nintendo went from a $6.7 billion in profits to $4.5 billion in profits. From 2009 to 2010, the DS sold 11.7 million units (2009) down to 6.7 million units (2010). This is the real news, not some aggregate puff piece on their million sellers.

NSMBWii legs disappoint. It's closer to the ancient DS version than its holiday 2009 sisters, Wii Fit Plus and Sports Resort.

The surprising thing is...it seems some of these are actually lowballed in the database.
