The VGChartz Gap charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

 

Switch Vs. Xbox One Global:

Gap change in latest month: 4,730,599 – Switch

Gap change over last 12 months: 8,475,902 - Switch

Total Lead: 16,406,488 – Switch

Switch Total Sales: 29,635,662

Xbox One Total Sales: 13,229,174

December 2018 is the 22ns month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month the gap grew in favor of the Switch by 4.73 million units when compared to the Xbox One during the same timeframe. In the last 12 months the Switch has grown its lead over the Xbox One by 8.48 million units. The Switch is currently ahead of the Xbox One by 16.41 million units.

The Xbox One launched in November 2013, while the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide in March 2017. The Switch has sold 29.64 million units, while the Xbox One sold 13.23 million units during the same timeframe.

The 22nd month on sale for the Nintendo Switch is December 2018, while for the Xbox One it is August 2015.

I'm waiting for the line to get into a quasi 90 degree progression.

I think an argument could be made it already has. Maybe it will get so extreme it will exceed 90 degrees and start going backwards into previous months.

Curious to see how well the X1 sells with 4 1st party games due out in 2019. Switch will over take very soon especially with next gen X2 most likely announced in June E3

Yeah, nothing interesting here. As Switch probably overtake XB1 lifetime sales this year, the graph will never look any different.
