considering the game file size comes in at a rather massive 13.5GB that's fairly impressive that people are okay with committing that amount of space on their Switch to give it a look.

It is when your console manufacturer is giving out welfare storage space

13.5gb on the Switch is fairly large for a game yeah, it puts it in the same region as Breath of the Wild, Smash brothers (with over 1 day of music) and Skyrim. Considering that games like Splatoon 2, MK8D and Mario Ody all take up around 5gb then yeah... a game being 3x that size I would consider to be "rather massive" when it's coming from a base 32gb storage.

That said, I have 2 micro SD cards which I go between, a 128gb one where I keep games like Doom, WWE2K18 and Resi evil 2 all of which come in at around 20GB+ and another 256GB card where I keep the rest of my 100 or so games.

Also to put Warframes size in line with other F2P games on the Switch, Paladins comes in at half the size around 7.6GB and Fortnite... the most popular game on the system in the category and biggest game in the world right now... is just 2GB on the Switch.

That may be, but in terms of content and quality it is a suprise the game is even F2P at all. It is right in line with other full retail games in the same style, but with far superior execution. It has come a loooong way in 5 years, so with it being free it should be no suprise, especially considering no other game on Switch is like it.

Shiken have you looked at Paladins on Switch? in my opinion it's in line with or in some ways superior to what Overwatch offers but comes at a cost of exactly 0 euro with all gameplay content unlockable via play alone.

I'm 300 hours deep in it.... for gameplay time that puts it on Par for me with BoTW which I paid 60+season pass for the same number of hours.

Also awesome with those games being F2P on Switch is that they avoid the admittedly low paywall of the Nintendo online service.

When I say no other game like it on Switch, I mean no other that shares the same style. It reminds me of what Destiny could have, and should have, been in many ways. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Paladins a PvP based game? Warframe is a Co Op based experience in most cases and offer a very different experience.

I was not talking about quality compared to other F2P games on Switch so much as I was the type of game it is.

Oh okay, slight misunderstanding! Yes if you want to imagine what Paladins is, imagine Overwatch, but the Blizzard logo says Hi-Rez studios at the start. Has a lot of similar game modes but with some done better than OW imo.

Warframe is one I've put on my 128gb SD card but have yet to sink my teeth into it.... Smash coming out yesterday isn't helping that either. What I've seen of it though puts it way ahead of retail games in that area such as Payday2 on Switch which looks inferior to it and has a very large price tag hanging over it (as well as the fact that it costing money means you need an online sub to play it) Warframe does look amazing when you compare it to what would be the closest rival game.
