With the upcoming release of the Nintendo Switch version of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Nintendo has delisted the game from the Wii U eShop.

Here is an overview Switch version of the game:

Barrel-blast into a critically acclaimed Donkey Kong adventure as this beloved franchise makes its Nintendo Switch™ debut with a banana-bunch of new features. Traverse islands packed with platforming perfection and nonstop action as the classic Kongs in the original game, or mix things up by playing the story as Funky Kong in new Funky Mode!

Arctic invaders have turned Donkey Kong Island into their personal frozen fortress, and it's up to you to save the day. Play as Donkey Kong in Original Mode and team up with Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong—each with unique abilities—to overcome platforming challenges and frosty foes.

For a more accessible experience, start a game in Funky Mode to enjoy a range of gameplay updates and a new main-character option, spectacular surfing simian Funky Kong! His extra hearts and unique abilities make for a more relaxed gaming experience. And no matter which mode you choose, a wealth of collectibles and two-player co-op round out the fun!

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will launch on the Nintendo Switch on May 3 in Japan and on May 4 in North America and Europe.

And this is why all of you digital-only people need to at least support the idea of physical media hanging around. The moment everything goes digital, we all become slaves to these guys... and that's exactly the way they want it.

Whatever was going on, it's back on the eShop already.

It's back up. False alarm.

Makes sense. It was being sold at about half the price of the Switch release, which would have made the latter look like a poor deal, and made Nintendo look greedy.

And we can't have that now can we.

So not only have Wii U owners a very scarce amount of original games to play on Switch, but now also Wii U owners can't even buy ORIGINAL WII U GAMES if they don't buy the overly expensive Switch? Just disgusting.

Can people still download it if they had already purchased it?

Yes, you can redownload if you already purchased the game from the eShop. You can also still use digital download codes from Amazon and GameStop (though at this point I would say a physical version would be best)
