The first game from Microsoft to be released the same day will be Sea of Thieves on March 20. Also confirmed are State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3, as well as future unannounced games from Microsoft Studios. The company specifically mentioned future Halo, Forza and Gears of War games.

Microsoft also announced it is working with retail partners, such as GameStop, to offer a six month Xbox Game Pass subscription card for $59.99 starting March 20,

Now this is something that is actually a big step! I think they might loose some money at first, but going forward this might become the norm.

Huge news, this is gonna encourage many people to subscribe. I believe this could actually increase revenue for 1st party content. I can't imagine cancelling my Gamepass because of this news.

People who say something bad about this are really anoying, this is great for consumers and this is something we should support, 10 dollars for all AAA exclusives + hundreds of other games, hell yes!

As an early adopter, I couldn't find a reason to sign up for Game Pass, but this changes that. Seriously, this is amazing news for Xbox One owners!

Hopefully it includes the meatier dlc and such, too. Would be a step up over EA's service.

Well it's already a step up since on EA Access you can only play the trial of new games and they get added to the service 6-12 months later. I doubt any DLC will be included for free. You have to make money somewhere. "Free" (or cheap) base game, paid DLC.

This could be a game changer. It will be interesting to see how other publishers react. The real question then becomes, will this tempt non-Xbox owners to get an Xbox. Microsoft already has an Xbox One S bundle that comes with several months of Xbox Game Pass. Damn, I was for sure going to purchase Forza Horizon 4 later this year. Now I'll just get it as part of my Xbox Game Pass subscription. Awesome!
