The open world action RPG from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games - Horizon: Zero Dawn - has reached a new sales milestone, according to our estimates. Looking more closely at Europe, the game had sold an estimated 0.38 million units in the UK, 0.37 million units in Germany, and 0.28 million units in France.

Horizon: Zero Dawn released for the PlayStation 4 in North America on February 28, in Europe on March 1 and in Japan om March 2.

Woohooo. Absolutely amazing sales for a new IP. Doesn't even include digital figures. Game definitely sold way above 5M worldwide. Congrats to GG and Sony.

In total Horizon is probably at about 5.5-6m sales for November 25th 2017, as they announced 915k digital sales back in may/june or something.

Also not sure where "week ending June 10th" came from. xD

Amazing sales and very well deserved. Glad to see their big bet paid off and to see they are getting the recognition they deserve. They are a very talented studio. Kinda bummed that we will most likely never see a Killzone game again. Killzone 2 was one of my most played games from last generation. Amazing game. 3 was also really good tho not as much as 2. With that said, I did NOT enjoyed KZ shadow fall at all.

The problem with Killzone Shadow fall and to a lesser extend part 3 is that they tried to be COD in space. The heavy feel of the weapons was gone and the MP was way better without perks. Anyway since Horizon is already very successful they don't need to copy anyone. Keep up the good world Guerilla Games.

Agreed I think a remake of Killzone 2, would make a nice change from the arcade feel of CoD etc. I loved the meatiness of the characters in KZ2. You actually felt that they were running around with battle gear on as well as the realistic bullet physics. Not this rubbish running at 50km/h stuff the arcadey shooters do.

Amazing for a new IP. It was probably more profitable than all Killzone games combined. Horizon 2 in 2020 as a launch title for the PS5 would be a system seller and look like CGI in terms of graphics.

I hope Horizon 2 is for PS4. There is still time!

i don't think we'll have to wait for PS5 before it comes out.

If Horizon 2 looks that good on PS5, will it even run on base PS4? 720p? That may be enough to entice customers to buy PS5 even though you can get it on PS4. If you bought it for PS4, would that copy work for PS5, or vice versa, or would PS double dip? Either way, a sequel is a must.

Ofcourse, i did enjoy it. Its not perfect but it’s close and its super fun to play. Other exclusives that I’ve played are Uncharted 4 bloodborne infamous second son nioh and persona 5 which is truly my favourite game of this generation

Will say, with a lot of good games to play this year, I will remember my play through of this one for a long time. So good.

Gears of War 4, a very well established IP and supposedly loved, only managed 3.2 million units since 2016. H:ZD manages over 4 million in 39 weeks. Killzone 2 remake please Guerilla Games. And Hey VGC how about those game comparison charts I mentioned on another news thread :p GoW 4 and H:ZD are both 3rd person futuristic shooters, so they could be graphed quite nicely :)

Still haven't played it but once I upgrade to the Pro it'll definitely be the first game I try. This is pretty much the first game that a voice actor has actually made me more excited for, as I love Ashly Burch :)

well deserved. Didn't expected too much, but it's well worth playing.(the first few hours might feel like a tutorial, but after that it's really great)

DialgaMarine (on 15 January 2018)

If say 5.5 million sold in total by Nov 25th is a pretty safe bet. Easily over 6 million by now. The game hasn’t really even been bundled either. Extremely impressive for a new IP.

I haven't started it yet either and can't remember if i picked up the DLC at some point or not. Waiting until I finish the DLC for Zelda before I start its greatest contender for open world game of 2017 Horizon: Zero Dawn!

It'll be Horizon 2, but I agree...all big Sony studios should work on a VR project in parallel.
