Bethesda has revealed that the launch of mods for Fallout 4 on the Xbox One generated 50 times the amount of traffic as the launch on Windows PC.

PlayStation 4 support is also in the works, as well as adding new features.

Im with other commenters in assuming people are getting mods the old school way on the PC, where as the XBO players have zero choice but to funnel through Bethesda.

No wonder there wasn't much traffic on PC when everyone's probably using Nexus, which Bethesda can't track. And not only that, but I would guess that some mods have been available there for a good while now, which would mean that this wasn't even a full-scale launch on PC.

Nevertheless, it's good to hear the mods had a good reception on Xbox One.

That and the mod tools took far longer to come out compared to previous Beth titles, with all that wait time people have gone and made their own mods without their official toolset.

Also I dunno why they do this either, it's like comparing data to an endless void that cannot be tamed to be read like a book since on PC mods are aplenty, with them being everywhere and not just segregated onto a single site that just happens to be owned and run by Bethesda themselves.

The way it;s working with Bethesda leaves little to compare to when on PC they have had mods for months since the game's release along with the fact that the majority of the modding community use 3rd part sites like Nexus to distribute their mods and mods created with a few edits to the game itself, those aren't really being account for nor tracked and it doesn't really paint an objectively fair picture.

And the PS4 numbers should be 50 times the xbox numbers, next month.

Wait what? Is it like if you download a mod, achievements are disabled permanently, or just while you use the mod? Do you have to uninstall all mods to get achievements back? Sorry for asking so many questions, this is the first I've heard about this.

It sucks... but also makes sense if mods could be used to give an unfair advantage. Have an achievement that requires you fire 1 million bullets? Make a mod that does that (or something in the ball park) and bam, 1 shot.

That is because cheating for achievement's.... If that makes sense? Or did you all think: Free, easy achievement's?

Certain mods should not disable achievements. Like I want to have the overgrowth and similar mods to make the wasteland look more appealing and stuff like that shouldn't disable achievements.

I can understand disabling achievements for gun mods and mods that give you extra bonuses though.
