Nintendo Reveals E3 2016 Plans

Nintendo Reveals E3 2016 Plans - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 05 May 2016 / 5,506 Views

Nintendo has previously announced that its focus for E3 2016 will be on the next instalment in The Legend of Zelda franchise, and today it has confirmed that The Legend of Zelda will be the only game playable game from the company at this year's E3.

Producer Eiji Aonuma noted that this entry “will be a clean break from the conventions of previous games”, explaining that the title will be “removing boundaries that forced players to follow a set patch and introducing new gameplay that has not been experienced in previous games in the series.”

If you can't make it to E3 in person, then Nintendo Treehouse will be hosting a day-long broadcast dedicated to showing the world the next Legend of Zelda game. This will be streamed at 9am PT on Tuesday, June 14th.

That's disappointing.

Well... it is obvious that 1 they aren't ready to show anything 2 they don't want to disappoint and get bad press like last time (though it will happen anyways) and 3 They want their own event to be the focus when they reveal the NX.
Still... this is ridiculous because they have more games to show on the Wii U and 3DS.

"removing boundaries that forced players to follow a set patch and introducing new gameplay that has not been experienced in previous games in the series"

Basically he is giving the franchise everything that he took away from it. Thanks Aonuma for nothing.

Rather than the Nintendo DIrect they are having a Zelda stream. No new announcements, no demos for other games, just Zelda - a game that's not even releasing this year. All that plus the fact that they are not showing NX at E3 - the biggest gaming event of the year.

This is insanity.

It seems like Nintendo is scaling back on E3 this year and their not making it their priority. This might actually make sense if they decide to hold a bigger even dedicated to the NX. #BringBackSpaceworld

Did you just say Nintendo might hold an event bigger than E3?

Does SpaceWorld get 30-40m viewers? mass press coverage that reachs millions more? Why would you purposefully skip all this free marketing?
Nintendo are Skipping E3 because they dont have a choice, not because they are "scaling back on it".

How is that obvious at all...if anything your damage control is the only obvious thing. He specifically said Nintendo is scaling back on E3 and it makes sense if they decide to hold a bigger event.

1 game at E3, Talk about all your eggs in one basket, crazy.

Also Salvatore you have a mistake in the first paragraph, last line has the word game in it one too many times :) also in the second paragraph, where links arrow is pointing, word Patch should be Path! Stop preempting a day one patch hehe!

Woops, thanks for pointing it out. I'm not gonna fix it (because it'll have to be republished and it'll take the editors time for not a huge deal), but I'll make sure to pay more attention next time!
I feel a little embarrased :$

Why does everyone read this announcement as Nintendo saying they will only SHOW one game at E3 when they are very clearly saying they are only going to have one PLAYABLE game at E3? They have not said anything about how many games they will SHOW.
Waiting for E3 were Nintendo show a number of games and a bunch of idiots react by saying 'Nintendo listed to the bad feedback over their announcement to only show one game and changed their plans!'
Sometimes I despair for the gaming community.

E3-Time is Persona 5 and PS4-Time. So many awesome games in future, cant wait. Topic Nintendo: i dont buy nintendo-consoles in the first two years, because the "games-support"... so i have no interest now. Only zelda, thats a joke - in my opinion. And its really sad for wii u-fans, that sucks@Nintendo
