Kojima Wants to Remake Metal Gear Solid as Open World - News

Hideo Kojima has stated at the Taipei Game Show that he is interested in remaking the original PlayStation Metal Gear Solid for the current generation of consoles, according to Famitsu and translated by DualShockers.

Kojima said that he currently doesn't have the time for a remake, but would love to see the game recreated as an open world title. Also no one has stepped forward at Konami that has shown interest in a remake beyond Kojima.

MGS is actually already open-world, and meh, they already tried with Twin Snakes and it didn't work.

I'd eventually like to see that, I'd rather Kojima take a bit of a metal gear break though. Try a new IP (non-Silent Hills) and see if he can redo his geniusness.

I am in the camp that says classics should remain as they were when released. No one liked it when Lucas updated his original movies with new effects (Hans shoots first etc.) because it changed everything. I say, leave MGS as it was suppose to be. Let it be a time capsule of great games play of the late 90's and focus on making MGS modern by releasing NEW entires.
